The new tasting room offers comfortable seating. The tasting bar was busy. The red wines are quite nice, Gypsy and Revelation are our favorites. The staff is friendly and fun. Fess Parker would be very proud. BTW, Mr. Fess Parker was a true gentleman and a very lovely person. We met him once a few years before he passed. He raised a very nice family and this wine is really one of Los Olivos stars!
We received a 2-for-1 tasting card from another local winery and decided to try this one out, as we were already in Los Olivos for lunch. Inside, it was nicely air-conditioned which was a blessing! They even let our dog come in and hang out! The 2 gentlemen behind the counter were low-key but very informative, and poured us not only what was on the standard list, but other selections we wanted to try. We ended up joining their wine club, because it wouldn't inundate us with lots of bottles, and because we really enjoyed the lively, nuanced flavors in all their wines. My British friend loved the Grenache Rose, and we also purchased a bottle of the Elite, and the Syrah. A highly enjoyable experience.
I started going to Epiphany two years ago and love it. I signed up for their wine club a year and a half ago and haven't been disappointed. Their pouring staff is always very welcoming and knowledgeable. They have a new tasting room that is very nice. I really enjoyed the old one but the new one is different and stands out. They went for a very modern approach. If you are in the area, stop in and try what they have to offer. Also - if you can get your hands on a 2007 Petite Syrah, savor that.
The outdoor area with comfy seats and tables is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings while winetasting. Excellent wines. Bring some cheese and chocolate to enhance the experience.
We sat outside on their comfy outdoor furniture while the pourer brought us our tastings. We brought a picnic lunch and enjoyed the outdoor setting. We joined the wine club at the end.
This place was packed. There was only one attendant working in the room. He did a great job though and remembered where everyone was at. That's a skill! The tasting room is modern contemporary which I loved. I enjoyed the wines and loved the experience.
We went to this cellar at last minute, last turn of a weekend in Los Olivos, almost just because it was there, open and we had some 'free tasting' tickets we could use. We had no expectations and walked in almost distracted kind of just looking around .... We were greeted by super nice people, they started to pour samples of wine and to explain how it all was made. We couldn't follow most of it, but enjoyed every sip of almost every wine we tried. We were taught how you mix chocolate and wine (genius!) on the same sip/bite and so the experience went, almost as it if wasn't really happening, but just making our last minutes so enjoyable. We ended up joining their wine club after we were back home just to get two bottles, or so we thought. Two years later, we are still getting wine, but have to admit frequently much more than the two bottles we signed for and unfortunately we are very far from CA and the shipping always makes me change my order from what I'd like to get to what I probably should spend. The wine is great and looking back, the experience while visiting was definitely very unique and unpretending.
This was the best wine we found in the area. We bought several bottles and ended up going back because we drank them all before we could get them home to VA.
I love this little oasis in Los Olivos, great wines and great place to mingle with others and relax. They moved across the street and now have a large comfortable outdoor seating area with clusters of comfy seating. The main tasting room is very trendy and not what you might expect, I really like it. The wines are great, we liked it so much we bought a couple to enjoy later. Tip, if the main room is busy, they do offer tastings outside with service! No need to stand at a bar, romantic if that's what you want or just comfy if not. Lots of green space, great wines and service! Not your typical tasting experience at all
We arrived in Los Olivos on Sunday afternoon around 4 pm after a long drive south from San Jose. Busy home bound traffic on 101 delayed our arrival. But we got here and checked into our Inn. We were given our list of wine tasting rooms and told which rooms were in town and until what time they were open. Epiphany was open the latest, so we headed over there. The room was very comfortable and modern, clean and cool. Los Olivos was quite warm this time of day, so we enjoyed the coolness of the tasting room. Our pourer was very friendly, outgoing and helpful. Asking our preferences in wines as well as in foods to help us with suggested pairings. He also helped us with restaurant choices for our stay in Los Olivos. So far his recommendation for SY Kitchen was great. Although we did not purchase any wine at the time, we got a good basic understanding of wine making in this area of California, as well as what to expect as we travel around the different valleys.Definitely visit this tasting room.
