Canal and trolley ride as part of the National Park Service's management of Lowell Canals and the mills. The kids loved it and the price can't be beat. Local history, a ride through the locks out onto the Merrimack River- the rangers are very dedicated and informative. This is not a ride at Bush Gardens but it is lovely and scenic and nifty in your own backyard. Hands on museum and standard National Park info movie. Worth exploring.
It was a beautiful summer day for a trolley ride followed by a canal boat ride. The rangers are friendly and educational at the same time. Afterwards we toured the Boott Cotton Mill and the Boardinghouse. Our ranger suggested a wonderful organic cafe Life Alive just a short walk away for an outdoor lunch. I have purchased my National Parks Pass as a result of this visit!
