For us living in Ljubljana we assume the Preseren Square as a city center. If you want to meet someone you'll find the Preseren Square a perfect place. Every body nows it. I recomend visiting it in December when there are a lot of activities there. Concerts, bars, fast foods, stands with various goods.
Prominent statue of Slovenia's greatest poet besides Trmostovje bridge marks one of the most memorable places in Ljubljana. Give it a try and visit surrounding coffee shops.
The square is central to the castle, the bridge connecting the quay side, the shops and restaurants. The view from this spot is beautiful all round with colorful buildings both modern and historical
It used to be and it still is the best meeting point in Ljubljana. everyone knows it and you can see it from far away
Beautiful site if it is not crowded. Just nest to the 3 bridge and overlooking the catle. Steps away from Hotel Emonec. Restaurants and shopping all around - walking area. Lovely
Romantic three bridges in the heart of the old town. This part of Ljubljana you can cover in one day and have a great sightseeing tour on the way Prices are very reasonable compared to other capital cities around.
Very crowded but good vibes with free walking tours to explore. many little shops and churches to see.. lots of history. a must go in Ljubljana!
A few steps from the Emonec hotel is the Preseren square. Nice to be there at night.Open air bars, with cheaps drinks, food stalls with hamburgers and, on that very Saturday night: live music. (Saturday Jan 3rd)On request: popular songs in Slovenian language. I asked for John Denver. Answer from the band: "an American tourist from Colorado..." (I am Belgian)...Close your eyes: do you see me dancing with the young ones, just on the square along the river. Unforgettable, that is what the square is.(visit also the pink church, and cross the bridges!!!)For your information: the city and the square are very safe. And the square is really worth a visit, also at daytime...some magic in the air. Yessssssssssssss.
You just have to see Old Town when december with all the lights decoration starts. It is just stunning!
A perfect staring point for your exploration of Ljubljana. You can go any direction and find something of interest.
