The Gardens feature a number of "hidden" areas that provide serene views and calming sounds. You'll forget that you are in the heart of a city. The summer music series was also a great night out.
What a gorgeous place! Words cannot describe how tranquil and beautiful it is. Winding pathways, waterfalls, koi ponds and all the green you can take in. Plenty to walk around and see, feed the koi and watch the turtles lazily lay around on the shore. The tranquility is indescribable, it's so beautiful and peaceful. Lots of winding pathways that take you from lush trees to the ponds and waterfalls. It'll take a few hours if you're up to exploring, so bring comfy shoes, the grounds are not huge, but you just want to keep on walking and taking in the serene beauty around you. The location also has a Japanese inspired restaurant, which was pretty good also. The park is fun for all ages, just bring a stroller for smaller kids.
Beautiful and soothing atmosphere. #1 Japanese Garden in the U.S. Great care has been taken to keep all of the Garden in tip-top shape. There are special events offered for children, adults, and families. Weddings are scheduled regularly and it's a topSpot for photographers.
Anderson is among the greatest gardens in the world. Impeccably maintained, there has been a Tuesday night bandshell playing for the last couple of years. It is a great way to view the gardens and have fun with family. There are shuttles from the Medical College for extra parking.
We went there for father's day and walked the grounds pretty nifty place. The displays are hidden from outside view so to realize the true beauty you need to buy a ticket and go through.
many attractions for all ages; if outdoor, nature is your thing. Plant species and landscaping interests abound, while koi ponds hold interest for younger visitors. Easy to traverse for most, and there are special provisions, but some of the garden is inaccessible for mobility challenged
Nice space for a large event! I had my bridal shower here and enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the gardens.
A unique garden with a perfect picture everywhere you turn. From stone lanterns, bridges, waterfalls, tea house, ponds, and many other treasures to discover. It is an authentic Japanese Garden. A special place I visit every summer. If your visiting from out of town combine it with a visit to the Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens. This is a short distance from the Anderson Japanese Garden.
Want tranquility, serenity, beauty and authentic then this is the place to go. Perfect place to just go and sit and be surrounded by all the above. I have met people from all over the world visiting there.
I'm well aware of the time put into maintaining the gardens, I just didn't find it very stimulating. I prefer a more colorful display.
