Metropolis building is an icon of the city, not very well known by mass tourism and to be honest it is not ranked on top of the best sightseeing in the city, but in my personal opinion is a great panoramic view for amazing photos. In the heart of the city center, a few steps from the famous Plaza Cibeles, in short, a notable architecture and costs nothing pass for a short visit. Very quaint.
Wonderful architecture, fabulous landmark in the centre of Madrid. This dome and angel is worth seeing, would recommend it .
This emblematic building was indeed worth the walk.Very beautifull. Not only the building but also many, many buildings in this avenue.Visit them all and take this walk
Famous building from early 19th century where Gran Via meets Calle Alcala. To get a good view of ornamented facade and cupola go along Calle Alcala towards Plaza de Cibeles.
Many lists of things to do in Madrid assured us that the metropolis building was a must-see, so we trekked down to the end of Gran Via to take in the architecture. The building is a very stunning work of art, almost, with the ornate top that has become synonymous with Madrid in my books, but that's where it ends. The building is just an office, which is a let down when its exterior is so magnificent, so there was nothing to do other than to get a picture of it and head off on our way.
You pass it so many times while in Madrid you kind of don't even realize that it's something you're supposed to see. However, it magnificent architecture. Definitely reflective of the beautiful architecture in the city.
This is really more of a famous landmark. Great to take pictures of it at night. It is in an area will alot of other things to see and is close to central Madrid so have your walking shoes ready. Easy access from Metro
These buildings are very picturesque, and make for a great picture. the surrounding area is a great place to sit and enjoy the surroundings, even do some people watching.
The Metropolis is a breath taking out door shopping district with jaw opening monumental buildings. Madrid took historic amazing buildings and tied it up with modern day shopping. This is a must stop on your Madrid stay
If you spend anytime in Madrid, you will undoubtedly pass by this building at least once. It's black & gold trimmed dome topped by a phoenix is quite striking and it's location on the all important corner of Calle Alcala and Grand Via make it one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city. The architecture of the building (and the buildings surrounding it) make it great for pictures as well.
