The park provides sports fields so good for locals but not much to see for tourists even if it is pleasant to cross a park in the middle of the city.
Very large park with lots to do, was only about a 15 minute walk from our hotel at Collins/7th. We did not go in the pool, though it looked awesome, and my kids really enjoyed the playground equipment as it was more geared to older kids, which you don't find much. Lots of shady areas and places to sit, tennis courts, soccer field, clean bathrooms
As our hotel did not have tennis courts, my wife and I took a shared lesson at Flamingo Park's tennis center. This is a public facility, but was recently renovated, and is actually nicer than most private tennis clubs! It features 17 HarTru courts that are well-maintained (and lit for night play), and new, clean, modern locker rooms with shower facilities. The instructor, David, was excellent. This was a surprisingly great discovery!
We were lucky enough to play 3 times during our week in South Beach.A bit pricey at $21.40 for an hour of court time, but the surroundings make it worth it.Friendly, helpful staff in the pro shop were patient with these two tourists who just showed up with no reso on the first two visits. Vending machines in the pro shop offer sports drinks and snacks. Cold water in coolers with little paper cups is available on the courts.
Public facility, $5hr/locals $10hr for court time. They have lights and a fully stocked pro shop with demos balls pros if you want a lesson. They use to have the national orange bowl junior championships here, now it's just a great place to get a hit in.They have pool, basketball and big area of park to chill. The tennis aspect is as good as you could expect from any public facility in the country.
I took my kids there and it was great. There is an ample playground with a locked door. No dogs allowed in the playground. It has many different structures for children ranging 2 to 10. My oldest one (4 years old) love the climbing wall. The park has also tennis courts and a pool that we did not use. The bathrooms were disgusting though. Avoid them if you can...
Great to experience locals. Great to cool off in the shade on a hot day. Enjoy the vegetation, the space, play sports, just be there on a day when locals come home from work
Centrally located park with lots of green space. Nice fresh water pool. Diverse activities. Nice place to drop off or pick up a rental bike too. Quieter than beach side parks but a short walk or bike ride from anywhere you could want to go in SoBe.
A lot os options a few blocks from south beach Miami. You can walk, run, play basketball. You have restrooms, playground, it is complete!
Great tennis. My husband played with Howy really fab and i played with David, i had so much fun just makes me want to go back now! They were so competent and relaxed at the same time!
