We love just strolling along the paths to see whatever is blooming when we are there. It is well groomed and beautiful.
Lovely place to spend time with the children, take a lunch break alone, go for a romantic walk, or just escape the freezing cold of a Wisconsin winter/
The gardens are, of course, exquisite in the summer and a wonderful place for events or simply a walk with family or a loved one, but one thing that is often overlooked is the interior, all season's tropical garden. I remember being a kid in the harsh winters of Madison and walking into the steamy sanctuary of the inner garden was like being on an alien planet. Definitely worth a visit!
This place is a marvel. Free admission to the grounds, the extensive gardens allow you to spend an hour walking the paths to an afternoon relaxing in the various sitting areas to watch the birds and the people, to actually stop and smell the roses in their vast rose gardens. I can't say I have a favorite spot, but on a warm summer's afternoon, to wander among the flowers and watch the bees at work, is my idea of an afternoon well sepnt.
I love this place! I like to go several times a year and during the different seasons. It's very peaceful and relaxing to walk through and experience nature. It's a good place for everyone. To go by yourself or bring your family or friends with.
We love going to this place. There's plenty of space to walk around and the lawns and gardens are well kept. There are wide open spaces and little nooks and crannies to explore.
This is a must see for garden lovers. Its right on the University campus. We had stumbled upon the gardens just by riding around the university campus and its something to see.
For those of us who live in the area, this is a true gem. Season shows change but the conservatory is always a lush retreat. For those visiting, Olbrich is worth a visit especially when you can enjoy both the conservatory and the beautiful outdoor gardens.
A superbly tended Garden. A dedicated volunteer staff presents many types of Gardens for an easy 45 minute stroll. Right across from Lake Monona and a Capital view. Go ahead, take a few moments to enjoy, you will be glad you did!
We return regularly! The Bolz Conservatory is a frequent go-to destination in winter. It is a life saver and a reminder that things will green-up again. We learn something each time we come here. This time, we saw a display of quilts - titled "Black Threads" - made recently by local African American women who shared memories of their family histories.
