Why go downtown when the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre produces amazing shows right in our hometown? Mr Chandler and his staff are incredible, and work hard to bring high quality shows to Marietta! Just a few miles from the Marietta Square and great dining!
Inside a very modest looking building on the outside, we found a well designed, well built theater and enjoyed an entertaining performance of The Nutcracker in December, 2014. I've been to the Cobb County Civic Center many times to the Cobb Gem and Mineral Show, a free, well-run sale and exhibition of precious and semi-precious stones and jewelry. I've seen the building next door but didn't realize it was a complete, self-contained theater until I entered it to see the ballet. The lobby is modest, but completely functional with ticket windows, and bathrooms off to the sides. On entering the theater itself, we found it to be fully equipped. It certainly accommodated the full-cast performance of The Nutcracker with props and groups of dancers moving on and off stage. The sound system was complete. At this performance, there was no live music, so I don't know how this is handled. Now I know if there is another theatrical event at the Anderson Theatre of the Cobb Civic Center, the venue will not disappoint.
The sound system was excellent. I was really impressed with the speed and accuracy of the Will call. There does not appear to be a bad seat in the house.
The calendar which the theatre puts out is filled with theatre to see, music to hear, and production shows to enjoy. The lobby is large, the restrooms are clean, and the staff is always ready to help. We are fortunate that there is also lots and lots of free parking, just waiting for everyone.
I've spent many hours watching shows here. It's the perfect size. There is not a bad seat in the house. They are a bit close together so I try to sit on the end or close to it so it's not hard to get out if you need to. Only suggestion I would have is to always have concessions-sometimes you just need a bottle of water and it is not available an every show there.
Fomos o último inverno e primavera para ver Les Mis e West Side Story. Duas produções incríveis. Todos os lugares da casa é um bom lugar. A gestão do teatro é amigável e mantém tudo organizado e limpo. Único inconveniente é eventos com o estar geral. Nós preferimos estar reservado. Caso contrário, é um local maravilhoso.
We went this last winter and spring to see Les Mis and West Side Story. Two incredible productions. Every seat in the house is a good seat. The theater management is friendly and keeps everything organized and clean. Only drawback is events with general seating. We much prefer reserved seating. Otherwise, it's a wonderful venue.
It was the Rockettes, Christmas Spectacular and it was great!!it was so fun and cheerful! The facility is beautiful and well planned!
Just saw another Atlanta Lyric Theater production there. Both the theater and the productions are great. Convenient to get to and lots of free parking. It is adjacent to the Marietta Civic Center; same parking lot. Lyric theater productions are very professional and affordable. They present major musicals. See you the I hope
This small theatre is adjacent to the Cobb Co. Civic Center, so is easy to find and has ample parking. (There is a short walk from the parking to the entrance). The theatre is designed so seating slopes upward. The arrangement keeps all the seating close to the stage and all seats are great. February and March for the past two years have featured some of the favorite "oldies". We just saw Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits) and have signed up for Chubby Checker, Jay and the Americans, the Platters and the Coasters. Autographing is available quickly after each show. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. You feel like you are spending an evening with old friends. We found out too late last year about this special "gem" and only got in on The Four Lads. We had such a good time, we booked a room at the Marriott just a block away! The people are easy to work with, just call and pick your seats!
