Well organized and there is all you can need. you can book your s´ki lessons as asking all the staff working there for support.it could improve with having more tables for guests.
Books, posters, patches and pins, this place has it all, including a friendly and knowladgeable staff. Get your wilderness permits here, maps of the back country or free town map, directions to motels or campgrounds or information on just about anything.
Mammoth Lakes is one of the main gateways to Yosemite National Park, it has a very good Visitors Centre that explains the trials & tribulations of early pioneers exploration & conquering the Sierra Nevada's
The rangers can help you with everything from where to buy gas to local weather facts and where to go hiking. There is a nice little gift and post card assortment at decent prices.
I love to visit visitors centers. Great way to get info, see topo maps, talk to locals. Also I am a great postcard writer and those are usually available.
Large selection of books and info on the surrounding area. Also, this is where you pick up your permit for overnight backpacking.
The staff and rangers are fantastically patient and helpful. Must be the air. There is a lot of information here and its absolutely as must visit if you've never been here.
This visitor center/ ranger station has all the info you will need to visit the area. They also have a nice selection of boos and souvenirs for the entire family. In addition, if you visit the area a lot, you can also pick up a local yellow pages phone book that are free to visitors. There are also very clean restrooms and a picnic area.
The visitor center is staffed by members of the US Forest Service who can provide you with lots of information about the natural landmarks and features of the area. They also issue wilderness permits for those seeking to go overnight into the Inyo National Forest.
Very helpful staff who can answer most relevant questions and give very helpful suggestions, with good variety of maps and literature, plus souvenirs. Great place for newcomers to get oriented.
