Too many tourists that make too much 'whispering' noise. Should have more strict security to remind them that its a holy place and need to respect the people who are there to pray.
A gothic styled church steeped in architectural history - the doors alone are fascinating and it is very worthy of its UNESCO status. Just as you enter Intramuros it cannot be missed or overlooked, but try to avoidf the coach parties (and possible cruise tourists who are in a mad rush). The only down side is the hawkers outside who are very pushy.
interesting architecturally speaking - chinese lions at the front, only one bell tower instead of two, columns that do not hold anything (just for show).
The San Augustin Church is celebrate its 440 years old. The interior of the church is very nice with beautiful ceiling. It is World Heritage site and worth to visit
Popped in for a few minutes on a walk around the Intramuros area. A wedding had just taken place so there was a real "party" atmosphere outside in the square as the happy couple emerged. A lovely Catholic church.
Just mind blowing to think that this church is as old as it is. The beautiful carved doors are worth a visit alone. Coming from Australia, it is always mind blowing to get your head around such old monuments and buildings. Certainly worth a stop.
an important part of the intramuros, plenty of history and a beautiful sanctuary especially if visiting on a Sunday where masses and weddings give a snapshot of local life.
