Bonnie was an amazing wealth of knowledge with a fantastic commentary and very helpful with the questions we asked. Showing us the coffee plants and explaining it all to us in a very friendly and good manner. It was the best coffee we have had in a long while. We thought that it was fantastic the Coffee Plantation helps out International travellers to extend their visa by working on the farm and helping out to learn new skills and enjoy our country for a little longer. Thankyou :)
What agreat time we had at Jaques coffee plantation, they can make a coffee all right and a really good one. But add in a segway tour of the plantation and you have a wonderful place to visit. We didnt do any of the other air trips, we just had too much fun on the segways. Robert was brilliant in showing the three of us how they handled, the features and was very patient working with us, then off on a brilliant tour around their place. Could not recommend it more highly
We called here around 2pm for coffee and cake. We declined the plantation tour and placed our orders for long black, latte and two Flatt whites. Also chose Tiramaso, Almond & Blueberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Tart, these were $6.50, which we thought were excellent value. Coffees were fantastic, good strength and hot. Cakes were amazing, came with ice cream and a swirl of cream. Coffees came with a chocolate covered coffee bean. All served with a smile. We will be back.
Beautiful surroundings, kids love the water feature, pleasant and the best salt and pepper squid. Nice to go for a quiet meal or coffee, friendly, quick service and not crowded.
wonderful place to eat out fantastic lunch and the staff were very warm and friendly, beautiful gardens and nice and shady. They also have helicopter rides that pick you up from there and take you on a scenic tour of mareeba and surrounding districts
Popped by for a cappuccino on the way back to cairns. Really was the loveliest coffee and nicely presented. Lovely little cafe area & garden looking out to the coffee plantation. Ladies at front counter were friendly and welcoming. Very well behaved
We visited Jacques coffee farm after spending the morning at the coffee museum in Mareeba. Although we went specifically to find out about how coffee is grown and harvested, we were tempted into also taking advantage of the microlight and gyrocopter flights piloted by the owner and his son. That following the excellent fish and chip lunch in the cafe rounded off an excellent day.The story of how the family coped with a range of set backs which would have finished most people off is a real example of true pioneering spirit and that alone would have made our visit worthwhile.
Worth a visit. The flat whites we ordered were excellent with the most marvellous coffee taste that left a long lasting and smooth taste on the edge of our taste buds as my friend described it. Superb coffee. Even the Chocolate macadamia round cake and Tiramisu with scoops of vanilla ice cream and cream were a real treat in the scorching heat. Although maybe a little room with aircon and a few chairs might help in the summer seasons especially when it is 36 degrees like it was the day we visited. Otherwise it was an unforgettable visit.
Jaques was a real surprise. We drove down the road thinking we were going nowhere but when we got there we undercover parking, great coffee and lunch. tours of the plantation by Segway, microlight or gyro flight. Buy your coffee to take home or order on line and have it delivered to you at home. Excellent day thanks.
Advertised closing time is 5 p.m. We drove the five km from the highway along the backroads to the farm and arrived at 1615. A young Asian girl was sitting outside the shop with a young blonde man - she looked up and blithely announced "we decided to close at 4 today. Sorry."Cannot comment on the quality of the coffee, but I would rank customer service and staff commitment at zero. My advice would be to save yourself the drive off the highway and go to somewhere that cares. The replies I form the Manager that I have read above only served to reinforce my opinion.
