There is a lot to see at evergreen, lots of planes, the spruce goose. However even though there's a lot too see a lot of their information (such as on the spruce goose) is inaccurate. And they are way way overpriced. If you can get special passes cheap it would be a good value and a couple hours well spent.
A great place to learn a lot about aviation and how it has evolved by seeing the planes and hearing the stories told.
Went there this past weekend and it is fantastic! The Spruce Goose is the main reason that we went but there is so much to see and enjoy. We spent 6 hours there! Every volunteer is knowledgable and friendly. They are all willing to spend time with you and answer questions. The facility is beautiful and we went on a great day so all the light really brought it to life. I have been to Wash DC, Dayton AirForce Base and the EAA and this was the better than those. They really took the time to showcase all the planes. In the other building, it is dedicated to space but there are also planes there. Cannot say enough about how wonderful this museum is. As a bonus, we were finishing our tour of the Spruce Goose and who is waiting for us to finish but Jay Leno! He was in town and stopped for a tour.
There are 3 buildings along with outside exhibits. One is for Aviation, one for 3D films and for for Aerospace/space. They have tour guides from WWII that take you around the one set and explain everything plus give their experience with the aircraft. You can go into Howard Hughes Spruce Goose. Very well organized and the films are about 45minutes and well worth seeing. Allow yourself 4hrs minimum to see everything. There are also Simulators to use, games and places to eat.
I have been to EASM a number of times and it just kept getting better, as they added great planes, a space center, IMAX theater and water park. Unfortunately, recent financial troubles are quickly decimating their collection as they sell off many of their best pieces. The facilities are beautiful, and the Spruce Goose is fun to see, but admission may no longer worth the high price.
Never seen the "Spruce Goose" before. WOW! Great sight for WWII planes and later. Space area and more modern warfare was excellent.
We stopped here on our way home from Lincoln City. It is 2 huge buildings full of the history of aviation. It was amazing to see for my husband and I who are in our 40 's and we saw lots of kids and seniors all enjoying the attractions. They have the famous "Spruce Goose". It is HUGE. Definitely worth the money!!
This place, was a unexpected extra, on the drive towards the coast.Landed in the parking lot. Had to tell my husband he could close his mouth.Walked in the doors and the smell of the crankcase oil and wonderful propeller planes did it for me. The IMAX theatre was great . Could really spend a couple of days here comfortably. Appeals to all ages. I had a bum knee but could sit whenever I needed to,in the vintage airplanes seats! What a treat!!!!
Great museum. Take a tour with a docent; they add so much to the history with their personal experiences and knowledge.
I have been to the Air and Space Museum in WA/DC and this is as good or better. A great collection and wonderful people. Do NOT miss this.
