The sun came out for us to be able to enjoy the beach and the lighthouse, still while wearing out sweatshirts but we were able to kick off our sandals and stick our toes in the water, we even laid out our beach towels to just sit and enjoy the sound of the water, it was super gorgeous and a great way to spend an hour or so.
I went with my family. We went up in the lighthouse. That was very educational we spent 2 days at the beach we really enjoyed the beach the kids played on the dunes and we went swimming
Make sure you get the tour of the lighthouse. The views from the top are amazing and I have been coming to this beach for years but a visit to the top of the lighthouse was the highlight of my vacation.
We had gone to Mac Dune Rides and were fearing we wouldn't have enough time to climb the Little Sable Point Lighthouse Tower. Even though we were running a few minutes late, they let us go up and experience the lighthouse. The kindness of the people in charge and their willingness to let us experience the lighthouse a few minutes late really made an impression on us. The lighthouse itself is a must see and the tour guides were top notch!
I grew up coming to this area as my family has a cottage here. The lighthouse is a must see. Whether you come to watch the sunset or spend the day swimming in Lake Michigan and enjoying the white sandy beaches, this is a beautiful location. I loved it here so much that my engagement photos were taken here, adding another great memory of the lighthouse. :)
Go visit the lighthouse. We visited in October, and were essentially the only ones there. But I imagine during the season the traffic might be a little more of an adventure (due to narrow roads).
This lighthouse is part of Silver Lake State Park. Therefore, a park entrance fee is required. The paved parking lot is large and there are restrooms on-site. A wide cement pathway leads us to the brick tower and the shore of Lake Michigan. Climbing lighthouse towers is one of my favorite things to do. There are times when this tower is open and, for a nominal fee, you can climb the 130 spiral stairs to the top of the tower for a breathtaking view of Lake Michigan and the shoreline. The sandy beach is a great place for relaxing and swimming. If you are in the area, include a visit to this lighthouse.
Awesome View. Take the tour inside. You won't regret it. The view from the top is something you can't get anywhere else.
A great small state park on Lake Michigan that features one of two key western Michigan light houses that are tended by the Lightkeepers Assn. Great summer visit that takes you to the wide expanse shore. Park Fee is $10.00 w/o a sticker.
Great lighthouse, area is a paved park to walk to the lighthouse, plus great beach here for the summer time.
