Large, beautiful museum!!! Walking paths on lakefront outside. Make sure to watch it open and close from the bridge at 10am I believe.(check schedule) Admission is a little expensive, but worth it:.) Discounts for seniors?
A great place to see contemporary as well as classic artists. Loved this exhibit and spent hours touring the many levels and galleries!
The architecture alone makes this museum worth visiting. The wings open at certain times of day. Main galleries are off display as they remodel and only a couple exhibits are open. Walk inside if there you can walk in for free and get some great pictures of architecturally stunning gem.
Parts of the museum were closed during my visit, but the areas that were open were very interesting, especially the “Inspiring Beauty – 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair”. I really enjoyed seeing the creations by Christian Dior, Vivienne Westwood, Ungaro, YSL, Valentino to name a few. Another great piece was the Chihuly In the main hall along with that beautiful view of Lake Michigan.
I liked unique Paintings, sculptures, lots of variety. Love the location on the lake. Lots of art to see. Child friendly.
Wonderful building and collection . A nice winter day visit. On the Milwaukee waterfront and worth the trip.
This is a beautiful place! The building is beautiful and overlooks Lake Michigan. Then there's the art - very nice. There's a good restaurant and once a month on Saturday mornings, they have yoga in the main atrium.
The building is spectacular. Not only is its exterior marvelous with the folding wings, but the wonderfully open interior has a magical view of Lake Michigan. Its a "must see" if you are in Milwaukee. There is no fee for just entering the building and wandering around, enjoying the beautiful views of the lake.
An architectural masterpiece and certainly something one doesn’t expect in good old, conservative Milwaukee. Oh, and the art’s pretty darn good, too, but be forewarned: most of the galleries are closed for a few months during the Museum’s renovation. Best to check their website for updates: http://mam.org/
