Awesome view of all of Minsk from the National Library, not to mentions the ability to spot everywhere you want to go from one central place. Andrei made this experience informative, but also the launching pad to our next destination.
People say that it was built using illegal money taking from goverment workers and they hate it. But it looks amazing at night, if you are in Minsk, you should see it.
very good looking.. from the top you can see the river and a good nice part of the city.. great experience
While the architecture is not really my cup of tea, I guess it's a conversation piece, and the view from the top is fantastic. I definitely recommend taking a ride up and looking over Minsk to see where you've been and where to go next. Beautiful views of the city on a nice day.
This was a unique architectural edifice which really impressed. The guide did a wonderful job explaining how the library system works here. The building offered many places to read, study and be with literature. Tastefully decorated by many Belarusian artworks.
Very neo-Soviet design. I really love it, and I find that it fits well with general plan of the city. I understand there is a restaurant/cafe on the upper level, but this was closed during my time at the library because some foreign diplomats were visiting. There is a nice museum in the library. This is a must-see for visitors to Minsk. Entrance can be a bit confusing. Buy your entrance at the cashier, and then take your receipt to the card room to receive an entrance card. Security is tight, but it's worth the effort to get in. I really enjoyed the huge library card files- the ones you used to see in US libraries before everything went digital. The library is spotless, clean, and modern. Highly recommended.
It's like a space shuttle in the city. Near the bus station its a monument to be seen. Probably you will never see a library like this.
it's really interesting building in terms of architecture. I enjoyed the panoramic view from the library- ideal for romantic dates. I attended it mostly when studying at the university- was quite helpful
Not the nicest building in the city but an interesting one. A bit far from the downtown, but easily reachable with blue metro line. It is possible to go up to the top for a nice view but personally myself did not have the chance to do it due to rain. If you are around in evening time do not miss to see the changing colors of illumination of the building.
At day you can really appreciate the unique shape of the library. Do travel to the top using the panoramic lift. The views are breathtaking. Then at night it is all lit up with differing effects, Mesmerising.
