We are sitting on our balcony enjoying a fruity white, Rombus.Nora was an amazing guide, ( not boring!) kept us entertained with her history of the family and Island. Lots of of excellent wines to sample and great olive oil, cheese and tomatoes to taste! Perfect way to wile away a couple of hours for those that like wine.Thank You Nora, a real asset and lovely person
We went to this winery as part of a larger tour of Kefalonia. The host at the winery was very friendly and very knowledgeable as to wine. We also snacked on some bread, cheese, tomatoes, and olive oil. They were even so kind as to give us some samles of their honey, which we were told they don't typically do. The wines we sampled were excellent and it was great to see how they go about creating bottles of wine.
This was only up the road from our hotel in Lassi so we decided to drop in; it helps that we like a nice bottle of wine. We were visiting slightly out of season so at the time of our visit were the only people there. For us this was a great thing as the lady in the shop/tasting area was able to give us her full attention and happily sat chatting with us whilst we tried the different wines on offer. If you're a fan of wine I would recommend visiting as they have a very nice Syrah, an excellent Robola, and an interesting Rose (it smells sweet but tastes nothing like you would expect). We had our young daughter with us but ultimately there is nothing there for kids; though the vineyards two dogs kept her entertained as they played around us.
My wife and I visited the winery on the day of our wedding anniversary and although it was closed for tours due to it being off season, we were given a personal tour by the niece of the owner. She was very informative, passionate, and answered all the questions we could possibly think off! My wife and I have always been red wine drinkers but we have truly been converted to white as we both love the Aspro Classic. Hope to visit the island again soon and we will definitely be picking up another few bottles on the way by! Thank you to the owner for your kind hospitality.
We enjoyed a wine tasting experience at the end of the afternoon. Sitting outside, we tasted six wines which were introduced by the niece of the owner , who was very knowledgeable . We had cheese, cubes of bread for dipping into their virgin olive oil and cherry tomatoes. A very pleasant experience, highly recommended .
Our hotel recommended that could visit the winery - and it is well worth the visit! It is a family run place, and hence you can feel the pride they take in running and explaining the business. In the end, one wine operation is like the other in terms of equipment, but even if you have seen one already, this one is worth to visit for their special grapes that are partly only grown on Kefalonia. After drinking lots of half liter house wine with our meals, and already thought the Greek wine offering does not go beyond table wine, we were definitely convinced of the opposite, they have some really great reds and whites!
The team have an obvious passion for quality, and share this through excellent customer service with friendly, insightful information. Wine tasting in this boutique winery is a fantastic experience (in line with the best around the world) with added extras of cheese & olive oil. To top an excellent experience, Gentilini offer a variety of surprisingly good wines! Olive oil is excellent too. Even in harvesting season with busy long days, we felt very welcome and loved the experience. Absolutely recommended activity and produce.
we had a good tour round the winery, its interesting to see how wine is made and bottled, our guide was Esme she was awesome
We rented a car and drove from the port to visit the winery as part of our exploration of the island. From the initial email inquiry about our visit (gracious reply from Marianna, one of the owners), to the welcome, tour, and tasting hosted by her niece, Nora, we felt welcomed. After a lot of experience with larger wineries in the US, watching the grapes being fed into a press the size of a large dining room table was a stunner. Followed by a tasting under the almond trees (4 tables). This is truly a small personally owned and managed business with actually very good wines! Nora gave us information on their limited US distributors and we are definitely following up!
This is a small independent vineyard, our host Nora was absolutely amazing. She took us into the vineyard and told us about the history of the Winery and how wine is produced. She was knowledgeable and kept us entertained. We were shown around the bottling plant, were shown the process from grape to bottle. We tasted a section of wines and were given cheese and bread with olive oil. A great day
