Just visited Lake Aquitaine Park in Mississauga, in early spring. There were enough birds chirping to drown the city noise. I saw ducklings, Blue Jays, Red wing Cardinals. There were people of all ages chatting, running, strolling, pushing strollers, riding bikes, on rollerskates, in running shows, in filpflops. The 1.5 km trail runs around the large pond. You can't swim but in the summer, there's a lovely spray pad by large turtles (near washroom facilities). The trail includes six exercice stations overlooking the pond. There's plenty of picnic tables all around so it's the perfect place to bring a take-out. And it's just a few minutes walks from Meadowvale Theatre, which makes it the perfect stop to let kids blow off some steam before asking them to sit down to enjoy a show.
My brother walks the 6 mile trail all summer every day as he lives nearby. When I visit him we walk together and I enjoy the beautiful scenery, the lake, the park atmosphere and seeing others enjoying it too. People fish in the lake, have picnics, walk their dog, let their children play, feed the squirrels and sit in the sun.
Walking trail around entire lake with 5 separate exercise stations, fishing spots, children's playground and soccer pitch. See geese, ducks, blue jays, blackbirds, blue heron and many others in natural setting. A cottage atmosphere in the city.
A great place for a walk! Not a lot of parking due to renovation of community centre. There is a splash pad for young children.
It is not to big, it is not too small, it is just right for a stroll and play at any time of the year, but is best early in the summer. The big map is prtially destroyed, some stationary outdoor work-out equipment was removed, I hope for repair, but it could be permanent, just as that map that is deteriorating as years go by. Sandy playground is ok, but could be better, or perhaps another of a kind might be installed next to - there is enough space for it.It is a pretty nice place to come by, spend some time, but nothing totally extraordinary or breathtaking. The covered swimming pool in the community center attached to the lake side could be renovated a bit, and the washrooms might have been kept cleaner /in proper working order at all times.
This is a nice park in the heart of Meadowvale for:- Exercise (they are several modern exercise stations through-out the main circle path around the lake- Walking/Biking (a paved shared use pathway circles the lake and links up with parks to the north and south and the Meadowvale Town Centre to the west.- Kids (a splash pad runs during the summer and is great for kids to cool down in)The park features a man made lake with a shared use pathway the goes around it. The park has limited grass area (good for a picnic or a kids game of soccer), but no large grass fields. There are lots of trees and a few small naturalized sections. This park links to other parks in the area via pathways that go under the surrounding roadways. The park is a good spot for walking, jogging and biking for short distances and since the pathway is a circuit can be traveled easily multiple times to make up a longer exercise session.
To call it a 'Lake' is a bit optimistic, but it's lovely to have a pool of water and trails to walk/run/jog/ride/cycle and play around. There's a splash pad for the kids with a washroom nearby. It's exactly 1km around the water so if you're training or tracking your mileage you can keep track easily.Great place for family. Not sure about the impact the renovations to the community centre will have. Hopefully it won't be too bad.
I love this place,I've been there many times,,especially with my dog,he loves the lake,I go there for walking or morning Asian work out.you can do fishing, use its exercise equipments or just walk around this natural lake which is preserved by city of Mississauga in best possible shape.it is very close to meadowvale town center with many restaurants and other shopping facilities.
Nice park, the lae looks nice but can't swim in it. Just a regular park. Bike path that goes through it is nice and long and covers a lot of the area
This place is an excellent place to enjoy nature and meditate...it is also a great place to do bird watching...
