This is a MUST stop by and get up-to-date information whenever visiting Mt. Airy. They are such friendly, helpful folks!!! Don't miss this place when visiting.
After reading other reviews this was my first stop in Mount Airy. The degree of hospitality and helpfulness was akin to stepping back in time. After listening to an introduction to "Mayberry" and armed with a free map it was easy to find my way around town.
My husband and I always love old TV shows and Andy Griffith is was one of the kind...so we always want to stop at Mount Airy traveling back from Chicago we found the time and stoping at the Mount Airy Visitores Center was clever.. Fabulous Costurmer Services with great infor and directions to places to go. The complete staff that was there was Great!
Was a bit disappointed that the town wasn't more dressed up for Christmas, but since my husband is a HUGE Andy Griffith fan - he loved everything.
The lady at the Visitors Center gave us a list of the best places to go and see and explore. Two thumbs up for the Southern Hospitality!
They had a pamphlet of the Main Street in which they had the stores & restaurants listed, however it would have been such a BIG help if the stores, shops, & restaurants could have been listed in order of location or on a map (it was only 2-3 blocks). We would have been able to plan are walking route if we would have known where the places that we really wanted to stop at were located. The center was a little big so it looked a little empty the way it was layer out, but that was very miner. The people were extremely friendly.
Great location, in the heart of it all, any map you could think of and the employees are super kind.
They are SO helpful here! They called and arranged our tour of the town in the squad car. That is a "must do" when in Mt. Airy!
The Mount Airy Visitor Center has the friendliest staff that is passionate about a wonderful small town. Thanks to Jessica(s) and the hard work of everyone involved!
If your going to Mayberry, I mean Mount Airy, you should stop by the visitors center and get all the info you could ever want about this little town. The gentleman and woman that were there were so friendly and helpful. They pointed out all the places to go and sites to see. They recommended restaurants to try and we weren't disappointed with anything they suggested. There's tons of flyers and brochures to pick and choose from. This is a great little town with lots of history, some real, some fictional. NO, the Andy Griffith show was not filmed there, but it could have been. So if your in the area make a point to stop by and say HEY to goober. Or just take a leisurely stroll down Main Street and try to remember what Main Street USA was all about. We shall be back!!
