My little girls had a blast at the Blue's Clues show. It was a cute performance put on by children and adults. They got to draw the three clues in the note books we brought and felt like they were a part of the show. The architecture in the theatre is absolutely beautiful. The seats are a little small as it's an older theatre, but the overall experience was fun.
I have been to many shows at Civic Theater and I have enjoyed every one of the shows. The arts in Muncie, IN are great and I would take a date, family, or friends. A great way to show your support in the community as well as see a great show.
Old theater that has a following in a middle America town. You'll love the decor and the people. Ball State University students as well as local citizens perform drama, plays, and musicals. Well worth season tickets. Come and enjoy!
this is a local theater and its mostly the community involved with the shows. Some university students come 'over' and be in plays also. they are current with a lot of shows. its homey theater, been a theater for years, and is registered as a national treasure. IT has won numerous awards both state, national and even international competitions. Go and just have a good time.
Well worth the price of a ticket to see a production here. Performances has always been top notch.
This little theater has lots of local people you never knewthat had talent. Muncie has lots of singers & dancers whocan keep you laughing or they can make you cry. You need to give them a try. Inexpancive fun for all
THE TOYMAKER was on stage this past Saturday to Muncie Civic Theater. The format was very unusual and very enjoyable. I always enjoy an evening at Muncie Civic.
Muncie Civic provides a tremendous atmosphere for our local actors/singers/directors as well as pulling some students from Ball State for year round productions. The Historic Building has been restored in many areas, and is beautifully maintained with great oak features. More is needed to be done, like seats need to be replaced (but that takes $$$).We recently saw My Son Picciochio and it was WONDERFUL show. The actors and kids did an unbelievable job. We took our grand daughters and they loved the show.
Pulling a local talent base and students from area universities like Ball State, the shows are pretty good. They are not all broadway quality, but I have seen some stellar performances. If you're debating about attending a show - go ahead and give it a try. For the price, you'll enjoy the experience.
The Muncie Civic Theatre is a great place to experience local talent and spend an evening enlightening ones mind whilst supporting local actors, their dreams and the arts. Is it Broadway? Is it Professional? Even Local "for-profit"? No. But, it IS an outlet for local people to explore the arts... they try hard and they make up for lack of grants, money and funds.Some.... much wealthier theatres have had poorer productions that I have seen. I have seen first hand that hard work and innovative creative minds have led to very well done productions in this community. Bravo and well done. However, many renovations and technical issues could be resolved. Still for an affordable live show this is a must when living or traveling in Muncie.
