Lots of shops for such a small place, Very friendly town, and variety of shops. Each shop has special atmosphere . Great girls trip.
I did not dislike anything about the town. Beautiful river runs through downtown. Neat gifts in all the stores in town. Lots of history that you might not know.
Enjoyed the variety of shops. The walk along the Cane is nice and a nice selection of good local restaurants
The shops on Front street were cute and trendy. Wish there were more. We also enjoyed MAMA's Oyster bar which was there also.
The historic downtown of Natchitoches is one of the nicest we have seen. They have a good variety of shops and restaurants. Don't miss Kaffie-Fredrick General store! Historic Front St. is beautiful at Christmas and they have a beautifully landscaped river walk that is very peaceful.
What a great place to walk. Front street has so much charm. Be sure to cross over the street and walk down by the river. From old to new you should be able to find something you like.
It has a lot of nice shops, the river is really nice and the Christmas lights were really festive. It is definitely a tourist town, because everything is overpriced.
Great little downtown river and shopping area and if you're lucky enough to see the Christmas lights, you might just loosen your grip on Bah Humbug (at least while you're in Natchitoches) like I did!
I'm not a shopper; but, if you are, you will love Front street. There are at least 3 blocks of all sorts of shops. My interest was the ironwork and architecture of the street, and I was not disappointed. It is evocative of Savannah or Charleston without the Spanish Moss. The Visitor's center is located on this street, as are public bathrooms (not too clean), and a number of signs about the town's history. Ironwork benches are provided by a number of local business all along the sidewalk along the Cane River, and the parking is FREE.There are a number of watering holes and restaurants along the street. One block over on 2nd street are a number of historic churches.
