Visited in September during a running drought. The falls are more of a light trickle, but still an enjoyable area. The hike up is short and moderate. It is mostly stone stairs. An area to the top shoots off to a "vista" with a few benches viewing Emerald Bay. Beautiful spot to watch the sun set.To get the Eagle lake, cross the bridge at the top over the Falls.
Great little hike with varying degrees of difficulty if you choose to go off the trail. Lower falls has some nice trails or you can do the free climbing up the rock face.
this was a short hike to the falls but when we went there was very little water which was disappointing.
Great trail with stone steps and a wooden bridge. Great moderate hike with a great payoff at the end.
This can be pretty crowded later in the day, but if you want to see a beautiful sunrise over lake Tahoe, come here early and there is no trouble parking. There were only a few other people around and it was stunning to slowly watch the light spread over the landscape. You won't regret getting up early.
It's a pretty good climb..not too strenuous. Beautiful scenery and when you get to the Falls it is just beautiful.
The hike is easy to find and the trail is well marked. You reach the bridge and the falls within 15 minutes or so. You can then continue on for about 20-30 minutes to a lake that offers spectacular views along the way. There are other hikes that continue on to other lakes if you want to make it a more challenging day. The trail head is very close to Vikingsholm as well to do both in the same morning or afternoon. You pay a voluntary fee at the entrance.
Short hike to the falls and the view is probable the best in Lake Tahoe. Bring a lunch and set on the beach, pure serenity !!
We lost but its worth it. We missed the exit going to lake tahoe blvd and we ended up to beautiful eagle falls in emerald highway. Cars were everywhere and try to catch the beautiful view of the lake and the falls. Worth it to drive and you will enjoy every view from the road.
Hiked the trail all the way to Eagle lake, very steep climb, lots of steps, but worth it. And it's easy coming back!
