Great views. Good place to look out over the lake. Parking at this place is a little tough to get but if you get their early it is ok.
Beautiful beach. Great place for a swim on a warm summer day. There is lots of parking and clean bathrooms are available.
Nice beach with parking for those who pay and walk in for others. Very gradual shore line so one can get out far in water without being over your head. Water was warm enough (Tahoe style) to stay in for a few minutes. Picnicking tables and bathrooms available
Was here during Feb'15 & the place was serene. Clean banks, quiet & the view was a spectacle. Not sure if the area was closed off but couldn't drive right into the park. We'd parked some distance on the main road & walked about a mile to reach the place. Highly recommend visit to Pope beach in S.Tahoe. Activities - Brunch, lunch/snack or just a great place to sit by the banks & relax.
We've always gone to the main beach in Lake Tahoe that everybody else goes to, until my husband found this beach on a bike ride. It's just as beautiful as far as the views, but it's cleaner with a lot less people. There are places to sit, bbq, and the public restrooms are very clean too.But there no rentals if that's what your looking for.Great place for everyone, but don't tell too many people! ;)
This is a beach that is not crowded like some others are. Parking fee is reasonable and picnicing is great. Beautiful forest trees with picnic benches and BBQs are clean. Water is cold! This is a great place for a bike ride with it's adjacent paths.
Great beach, lots of sand, excellent spot for swimming, and plenty of space both in the sun or shade. Parking was plentiful and convenient, but you could even save the 8 bucks if you bike in or feel like walking a quarter mile.
We were there in June when they had music on the beach, but a nice beach to hang out in and good amount of parking.
Beautiful sandy beach with a great view of the lake. Wonderful place to swim, boat or just each lunch. Great place for families, couples or by yourself. Easy to find.
Lots and lots of people take their dogs to Tahoe for all its beauty...but the BIG problem is that most of the beaches and lakeside "prohibit" canine companions. Well, HECK, what dog doesn't LOVE the beach, and what dog owner doesn't love taking his/her dog to the beach...and let the pooch OFF-leash??? If that's the plan and hope, take yourselves to POPE Beach at the very southern tip of the Lake. The signs are easy, and the access is very good. Walk for a LONG ways, and enjoy the perfect scenery, and the utter joy of your pup being off-leash and joyfully romping in the sand or taking a quick dip in the Lake! Oh, yeah, please bring Poop Bags...just in case. "Keep Tahoe Blue (not brown)"! LOL
