Lovely clean and sandy beach. choose a day which is not too windy and find out tide times and walk out to the island
I took the family off camping to Donegal. What a success. We stayed at Boyle's caravan park and had a great time. The tent was about 50m from one of the most stunning beaches I ever did see.If you camp I took the advice of a previous reviewer who advised taking hard ground pegs. We were camped backing onto the golf club, which was a bit rowdy on the sat night, but fine the rest of the time. Will def go back as I love Ireland, and the beach is definitely worth it'
Excellent clean sandy beach, just like some of the beautiful ones in Australia, there is a island just out from the beach with old ruins on it, which you can go out to at low tide, just watch the tide if you want to get back same day. The sunset in May was at 11:00pm at night, we walked the beach followed by a friendly little dog from next door.I stayed in the Carnaween Cottage, a nice holiday place for that will accomodated 6 easily, with a nice fire, and outdoor furniture, to enjoy the sun, weather apart from one day was beautiful on my visit. The water is a little cold compared to Australia, but it doesn't stop the locals who swam the day after the wedding Sun 18 May 14.There are many more places around this coast that I would love to explore, and I will go back there one day.
We stayed in Narin for a week and absolutely loved the beach. Our Dog loved it even more! 3km long at least, wide and sandy, and almost deserted. In other words, perfect. There is a small island just off the coast, which in low tide can be accessed on foot via a sand bar. Narin is a great place to base your holiday in Donegal if you want peace and quiet in the evenings after a busy day touring around the rest of the county and we would love to go back.
A truly beautiful strand, with an accessible island with a 6th century monastery. We had a wonderful walk from the golf course into the small town.
Well, like most of the beaches in this aerea it is clean beautiful and blue flagged if I remember it right. But worth a visit anyway!
If you are in the area this is a must visit. Beautiful, long and clean. During low tide you can walk out to the island and explore an old church etc. There is a couple of excellent coffee shops/cafes just off the beach also which are great for lunch etc.
This was a great beach to walk while my husband enjoyed golf. At low tide you could cross to a small island. There were no facilities at the beach but there was a small pub a short walk away.
Visited this beach while staying nearby for a wedding in the area. It is a beautiful beach- very clean, long and sandy. It is great for walking along. Lovely photo opportunity too.
This is just a surperb beach and one can become totally relaxed and free and walk for miles. Its beautiful. I go there all the time just to unwind and "get away from it all". Could not do anything better.
