Skywire was so good we went on it twice. Cafe was excellent too. Superb views from the top. Good value for money.
Thanks for the review. I'm Glad your girls had such a great time out with Phil on the horses.
Great experience, friendly people. Amazing view from the zip line ride and the quad biking was great fun
Thank you for your review. It's great to hear you had such a great time with Alex, look forward to seeing you both out here again :)
My apologies that you were not happy with your café experience. I did vary our options for you but then still made a mistake with your order. I will explain that we are trying to cope under trying circumstances after a bereavement of my partner and my own health issues. This was the first day of having our full menu on after many requests and we did our best to cope.
Thank you for your review. I hope it was a great ending to your trip.
We (2x58 year old women) are trying to do something different as often as possible during our stay in New Zealand. So we booked a quad biking experience at this place. We had an absolute ball. Our guide, Alex, was personable, experienced and felt very safe. He made sure we were able to control the machines in a practice area before setting off on a stunning 2.5 hour journey - no mean feat as neither of us had ever been on a quadbike before! We went up and up beautiful bush covered mountains on the way up to the zipwire. The scenery was fabulous and even more so when we turned the noisy engines off - you could really feel the beauty and stillness at the top of the mountain. The zipwire experience felt as safe as such a frightening thing can be... we were locked into the seats and took off over trees and birds... you could see down into the bush - amazing. I especially loved coming back because you couldn't feel the wind and I was able to open my eyes and relax a bit! Then to our surprise Alex took out a picnic box with tea, coffee, biscuits etc. A really welcome break overlooking an amazing bay. Then back down the mountain again. We definitely recommend this place - and wear decent shoes if you go, you need to feel secure.
Delightful 2-3 hour trek around the hills above Cable Bay –old trees, stunning views, n tea or coffee and cheese and biscuits included. And then there was the zip wire!!! Even better going backwards! And the chance of a thrash at the end. We managed a guided tour with only two of the guide and us and that gave us a chance to learn about life in contemporary NZ.
Thanks for your review :)
This was so much more than just a flying fox. We were strapped and locked into our seats and then sped across the top of the valley at about 94kms. What I wasnt expecting was how peaceful it was (once you get over the initial rush) as you skim above the treetops and check out the views. The trip up to the skywire was an added bonus as we stopped and learnt a little about the local fauna and Maori customs. A fantastic way to spend a few hours.
