It's OK and is a great vantage point over the gorge but its slow going, a bit cramped and not super exciting when you compare it to all the attractions down at the Falls. This is a little out of town. Then again I've never seen an aerocar elsewhere let alone been in one so for being a unique experience it's a 3. Thanks
An old time piece of engineering that takes you over a rather large pool of swirling water. Don't let the word whirlpool fool you, it isn't like a giant version of your bath plug hole. It is where the class 6 rapids of the Niagara river try to complete a 90 degree turn without success meaning a lot of the water gets caught and starts turning in a circular motion - the whirlpool. It isn't easy to see this but the aero car takes you directly overhead giving you a great view and as were there in fall, the views were stunning. I was a little disappointed that you could not get off at the other side, it looks like they have closed the other station down. Also, you never leave Canada, it only crosses the whirlpool not the river, so you never enter US air space.WeGo green line bus will take you there and back.
We did the Aero Car in autumn with really nice Fall color. The trip is quite short, but we knew that before hand. As far as the person who said you stop but don't dock on the US side ? There is a Canadian flag on both sides of the cable ride...you have a good view of the US side, but it's across rather than in the path of the car. I'm afraid of heights and I did just fine. Great photo ops.
For those that are not afraid of heights this is one awesome trip across the Niagara gorge. If you visit and don't mind the height go for it.
It is all to be liked. Some people, of course, are a bit anxious but the return crossing, when you change sides, is great.
It was a first time experience for us to go and take a ride in the whirlpool aero car.The river below us ,the boats the view all perfect .
nice side trip from the falls or you can get a package deal with a bus. I suggest doing the bus tour as they get you in and out of the attractions quickly
I was only 16 when I went on the Whirlpool Aero Car and it's something I will never forget. Even though it does not do much besides hang over the river just a little ways from the falls, I can still remember the thought of falling down into the only backwards whirlpool in NA.
This is a very old trolley car that crosses a section of the river below the falls. You cannot see the falls from this. I enjoyed just looking at the trolley system and didn't feel the need to ride it. Loved the history behind it.
This ride is a real throwback in time. It is not fancy or extreme. It is just an old time cable car ride over the fall whirlpools. Regardless it is fun. If you buy the Niagara pass, you get to do several sites for less money - I encourage it.
