The walk to this waterfall was really nice, but when getting to the waterfall, it was a bit steep and dangerous to climb too. Having this as a main attraction (& a place where school kids come to visit), I would have thought there would have been railings or steps (or something for accessibility) that could have been put in place in case people need it. I didn't see anyone having trouble accessing anything, but it could be a great barrier from people trying to access higher up on the falls (for those less adventuress). However, as this is an outdoor attraction and being as close to normal as possible, it matched my expectations perfectly. Great scenery and a nice hike. I just don't see why anyone has to pay to see this, as it's just like any other waterfall.
Visited one day after heavy rain. The last path was blocked and the water brown due to the rain, but it was still worth it. The guides meet you at the parking, and you pay a small fee.

Swimming in Nylon pool gave me an extra 10 years so did standing under the water fall at the Argyle falls....I now have a mad craving for Farley's Baby Biscuits. It is a wonderful place with a very pleasant walk up to the falls, if you are a bit more adventurous you can climb up to the top of the falls which gives you a great view of the bottom pool. On return a nice cool swim and a shower under the water fall. We had a guide for the walk up who pointed out various trees and wild life and told us a little about the sites history of Cocoa and sugar growing.Someone mentioned hand rails and the like....NO NO NO it's an adventure play ground for kids and adults alike. The world has gone mad with health & safety and wrapping everyone in cotton wool.
I came to the falls with a group of friends who made it absolutely amazing. We unfortunately came during a rainy period and the falls were not ideal to bathe in as the water was dirty. The hike up to the top of the falls was thrilling... beware of sharp rocks as you enter the pools. They are very slippery as well. A great experience.
You can hire a guide if you like I chose to do it on my own and thoroughly enjoyed myself, A short hike that is easily done brings you to this pretty little falls. I spent the extra energy and climbed to the top and had a swim there. I thought i was home in Canada buuurrrrr that's cold water, refreshing after a few minutes. Only caveat be careful as you approach the falls there are some slippery sections, I saw one lady slip and land on her behind pretty quick. Worth the effort.
If you really want to see all these falls and not just languish at one pool you need a guide and we recommend Denny! Not only did he know loads about all the fauna and flora he took us safely down 5 parts of the waterfall and back up again. Exhausting and tough on your muscles which makes the swim in the big pool really welcome, we had a great time.
beautiful, 50 meter (150 foot) drop from three tiers. It helped to be there during rainy season. It definitely helped to be there NOT during tourist season as we werent hassled by hawkers and others.
We rented a car in Store Bay and drove all around the island and Argyle Falls were a highlight! They don't open until 9am, though, so don't get there too early (like we did) and the entrance is TT60pp. We didn't ask for or get a guide, which was fine - our companions were two very cute little puppies that wandered up with us. We spent an hour swimming in the falls and jumping into them as they are quite deep. We were the only ones there and only saw another couple pull in the lot as we were leaving.Definitely worth a visit, though ensure that your clothes are packed away as the cute puppies decided to use my boyfriend's favorite shirt and sock as chew toys...
I can wholeheartedly recommend Hans Tours for seeing many parts of the island and the Falls. We had an excellent day. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a relaxing and amusing swim in the Falls, watched a myriad of birds, experienced the rainforest (with liquid sun) and found Hans to be extremely knowledgable, courteous and a very good driver! Worth a visit.
