I took my grandchildren to oldham coliseum last night to watch ALADDIN.We had a great time when we got there but we could of done with a magic carpet to find the theatre.oldham council should put up BETTER signage to get to the venue not just around the corner from it.Better signage from the A62 to the venue it self also the KING ST ROUNDABOUT needs much better exit signs it took me two goes at finding the right exit to the A62 to the M60.Back to the coliseum, the show was outstanding great venue the staff were great and we ALL really enjoyed the evening looking forward to the next one.
At the Coliseum Theatre Oldham to see brilliant production "Our Day Out" starring Claire Storey Russell Richardson Adam Barlow and Samantha Siddall a funny often touching thoughtful musical with Mrs Kay and her Progress class. With such talented youngsters on stage - makes a feel good night at the theatre. Catch it if you can before 27 September.
fantastic night out every year for the pantomine children love it staff always been very very helpful a deligt to return every year
Oldham colliseum theatre is a real gem , not just in the northwest of England but on an international stage. 130 years old and still a benchmark for even the best the country has to offer, Wonderful architecture and historical feel to this old lady. The town itself has suffered a period of ill fortune due to govermental austerity, but, has insitue, a multi million pound revamp in progress. It plans to modernise many of the areas direcly accessible from The Colliseum. With a plethora of bussiness enquiries already inundating the council and an exstensive metrolink network to all parts of The local region and exciting rebuilding in progress, Oldham WILL return has the oustanding hub of northern entertainment it once was.
I have been going to the coliseum since I was a child, for panto season, the staff are polite, the theatre is lovely and clean, the pantos are outstanding, I now take my own children and they love it
Lovely experience at the theatre. Staff is very nice and welcoming. Portray excellent customer service skills at all time. Definitely recommend to go and watch a show at this theatre.
I've been going to the panto here for a few years now, always on the last night. There's normally a large group of us attending of a variety of ages, this year I had my 4 year old god daughter. This panto gets better each year, I didn't stop laughing, and neither did my god daughter. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the prices are also very reasonable. I would recommend to everyone
This theatre is very well known for the actors it's helped on the way to success and it's no wonder. I've tried out the acting classes and they were great, even if I wasn't. There is a great atmosphere here, lots of good value shows. The Chicago production was outstanding and the pantomimes are much better than the ones in Manchester, in my opinion, as long as you don't want big names. There is a nice cosy bar too.
I have visited the coliseum on a lot of occasions over the years and they always have something on each week in the year for everyone. We went to the pantomime in December with all our family 11 of us in all ranging from 5yrs old to 70yrs and we had a great night. Reasonable prices and parking nearby it is a wonderful theatre and well may it continue.
Oldham Rep (as many know it) seems to manage and thrive despite its surroundings, visit on a midweek night and other than a bar which is open( you can tell because all the smokers are out on the pavement) most other buildings close by are shuttered and darkBut go through the door and see Our Day Out..the Musical ..full of teenagers..bright stars of the future ..all of them portraying an 'edge' which reminds us of many of the teenagers we know, add into the mix a school outing, a group of teachers like we used to know, a theatre which is recently refurbished and is clearly well run and a programme of future events where there are many to try to get to see in the near futureGet the picture..go see ..you will not be disappointed!
