Very relaxing place. It's been around forever, so the trees are tall and give NICE shade. Not crowded at all because it is a larger park. Plenty of quiet and peaceful areas. This is where you can hear a tree branch snap in the wind. Love it.It's not the most modern place, so only reason we didn't give it a 5 star rating.
Great spots to picnic with the family or a group plus playground equipment. Take in a ballgame, fish at the lower park, feed the ducks, hike, or visit the old schoolhouse, Paul Bunyon lumbering exhibits, or the newly redone Chippewa Valley Museum.
When we visit grandparents they always love to grab some fried chicken and take us for a picnic at Carson park. The playground is huge and they have some unique tube slides. It's also very pretty and great for family photos.
Really fun 1/4 scale railroad ride through the woods. The railroad has two real steam engines and one diesel. Kids and adults can ride in the cars. The crew all wear railroad clothes and made the whole experience fun for our whole family.
Need out of your hotel? Come here and walk the trails. Be one with nature... It's great. great scenery with half moon lake.
We were at Carson Park recently for a UW Eau Claire Football game. Although the game did not turn out as we hoped, the stadium was a pleasant surprise. The parking lot provided ample parking with plenty of room for tailgating and pre-game fun. This stadium had one of the best announcer sound systems I've ever heard. Everything was crystal clear with no echoes! The seating was plentiful and the bleachers are close enough to the field that you really fell part of the action. Next time we visit, we will check out the park grounds.
It's very peaceful and quiet. I loved playing there when I visited family as a kid. Love the park too, it's great for kids.
enjoy time at carson park always things to do, children are welcome as well as pat great swimming as well
i found this little bluff years ago, & was delighted to return & find it just the same, with an updated playground on the "lower level". You can drive through the large parking lot & past the playground or take the road from either gate to get up to the peaceful, scenic drive that winds around the bluff.
