Another site to be viewed as one hikes the Perimeter Trail. There is a trail that goes directly to the falls also.
This is a rocky hike up to the falls. Loved It! You can get right up to the waterfall. Not a long hike from the parking lot.
We took the short hike back up into the mountain., to the falls., very nice., the falls were beautiful., flowing out of the rocks., you could go all the way up., if you liked, it was a little steep., for some., others stayed back a bit., and just enjoyed the view, views., wonderful stop., swing by, you will not be sorry., bye for now., p
Easy hike to get to the base. Can climb and get close to the base of the falls. Great views, can feel the mist of the water and very beautiful.
The falls are pretty and the trail is short and easy to get to. It makes a nice walk before or after dinner!
The hiking was excellent and the snow made for a real challenge. We took it up to the old shack at the end of the trail and didn't regret the 8 miles.
This is a short easy hike that takes you to a beautiful fall. You can't beat that! Perimeter Trail wii also swing you by here, but I preferred just hiking from its trailhead.
This was a beautiful waterfall with great places to take pictures. We saw one group of people taking senior pictures there. It would also be a great place to take engagement or bride pictures. You do have to do some climbing, but nothing that can't be done in the right pair of shoes.
Signs showing where to go. Plenty of parking & no charge to see it. Nice walk to the falls. Did it in flip flops because I didn't have other shoes w/me, but wear better shoes if you have them. Can essentially walk up underneath the falls... Very refreshing & relaxing! Plenty of rocks to sit on to just relax & take in the scenery. Weren't many people there that day so it was nice & peaceful.
Be sure to put this on your short list of things to do in Ouray. The trailhead is at the end of a steep street, and while the trail to the base of the falls is rather steep, it's also short, and easy to do for families with young kids. There is no charge for the hike, and kids can play at the base of the falls. Better yet, there is a way that you can take a short trail to walk "behind" the falls. (Take the trail up to the left of the falls.) If you don't have time to do many things in Ouray, this should make your "short list", along with the hot springs.
