Beautiful sculpture of Mustangs playing in the water that is a must see! Wish I could have packed them in my carry on and brought them home with me.
The horses are running wild through a fountain...very cool! It is in a square surrounded by nice restaurants...see to appreciate.
We visited the mustangs on a Saturday and the area was not at all crowded. As such we got lots of great photo ops with the sculptures. Note - take pictures! The fountains at the feet of the horses look like they're splashing through the water in a still shot.! The sculptures are detailed and wonderfuly done. From there, I'd suggest a 2-3 block walk up to Las Colinas Blvd and to the left (south) to visit The Cellar or any of the other restaurants down that street.
This sculpture is magnificent - anytime day or night. The adjacent - and FREE - museum is only open limited hours, Wed-Sat, 11-4, but Mary the tour guide is incredible. She's got great info on the sculpture itself, the sculptor, but also on all sorts of other things to explore while you are in the area.
I noticed the mustangs as I looked out of my window while staying at the Mandalay Hotel. Quick walk to the square and there they were--beautiful mustangs running through the water. I don't know that I would make a special trip to see them, but if in the area, you should check them out.
Everyone from the Old to the Young like to visit this Irving Attraction. The Mustang Horses seem to come alive splashing water as they rush along the landscape.
I had the pleasure of seeing these many years ago and find myself wanting to go back again! These statues together, tearing through the water were just magnificent. If you are in the area, it's definitely worth a stroll to see!
These are fun to watch kids play around on, and great for photos. Beautiful icon of the city. Plenty of parking around for your visit. When the weather is nice, it is a great place to have lunch outdoors.
The Mustangs of Las Colinas are so beautiful, it's hard to believe they have been there as long as they have been. Previous reviews stated that they were difficult to get to, however my boyfriend and I had no trouble finding it. We stayed at the Mandalay and it was just a quick walk for a couple of blocks. They are doing construction right in front on N O'Connor Blvd, so I recommend parking on E. Las Colinas Blvd. in front of or near "The Cellar" and just taking the stroll. It is definitely worth it to see this beautiful work of art!!
Other reviews indicated that finding this was difficult but we had no trouble at all. It is really an amazing piece of art and the water running through it made for an added bonus to view. The only problem we had was that we had a dog with us and the dog is very obedient and was not causing trouble but we were told he had to leave and never mind that we had taken the time and effort to visit. We recommend visiting but don't take a dog and don't expect friendly employees if you do.
