The Floodwall Murals in Paducah are extremely well done and very informative. We live in the area and always make sure that when we are downtown in Paducah we go to the murals. The artistry is fantastic and there are notes written for each mural as it describes what exactly was happening. If you're ever in Paducah, it is definitely a thing you'd like to see...
I enjoy looking at these because they are out Town's history. I guess if you are into things like this, out of town folks might enjoy them. As for myself, I would never travel to see any other towns murals.
We visited about 15 years ago and several new murals have been added. The new ones are very well done and the plaques in front of each one is very well written. Good job Paducah.
These elaborate murals tell the story of Paducah and the Ohio River. Recently refurbished, they liven up a utilitarian object - the floodwall.
Enjoyed viewing area history in pictures! Very well done and informative! Paducah seems to be one of the best in preserving history, and promoting the arts!
If you are a history buff, the Floodwall Murals tell a fascinating story of Paducah and the Ohio River. Beautiful way to enjoy a pleasant stroll and have a history lesson rolled in to one.
They're right there at the foot of Broadway. In less than an hour you can visually enjoy some of the history of the town.
The murals tell the history of Paducah and are near the river. We fed the seagulls at the time we saw the murals. There are antique stores and the River Discovery Center nearby.
We usually walk the murals a couple of times a year. Its a fun thing for us to visit these and the river front and walk around the old downtown area
take some time and walk by all the murals on the flood wall. They're a great way to learn about the history of the area as well as a great way to enjoy excellent mural painting. They are very well maintained and in the summer you may even get to see an artist doing touch up work.
