You're in Paris you have to see the tower. It took a bit of hunting for me to find it. I got to see more of the town that way! :)
It is a "sort of" replica of the real thing, with a cowboy hat on top. It sits a ways out of downtown in theparking lot of a civic center. There isn't really anything around it other than a Veteran's Memorial which we actually enjoyed more. What else can you do with the tower but get your pic in front of it and forever make jokes that you "went to Paris....Texas". Be sure to walk through the still-under-construction veterans memorial right next to the tower....a great opportunity to talk about country, service and sacrifice to the kiddos. We made a small donation onsite towards its renovation efforts.
A definite must see while in gay-Par-eeeee!!! It's smaller than the original (duh). It's roadside kitsch. All these reviews about how people have been to the original and yadda yadda yadda.... We get it. You've been to Paris, France. This ain't Paris, France. It's Paris, TEXAS! Have fun with it. We picked up some dorky berets at Walmart and cheesed it up. It was glorious fun. If you want to be all snooty and Frenchy, go to France-- DFW is right down the road. If you want to spend a half an hour having fun and just being silly on the back roads of America, this should be at the top of your bucket list.
I have two teenage girls who liked going when they were in high school. Now they are in college. They want a picture about every other trip by there. There is a neat memorial park right next door for the history lovers in the family also.
If in Paris TX you must see the Eiffel Tower that adorns a red cowboy hat. Located next to the Love Civic Theater there is ample parking. I was disappointed there wasn't a little gift shop. There is a Veterans Memorial at this location as well.
Fun but anti-climactic after seeing the image splashed all over town. Located at the Paris Civic Center and next to a very attractive veteran's memorial.
The Town of Paris Texas, seems to have seen much better days, but two stands outs are the new Memorial veterans park still being built and the 50ft replica of the Eiffel Tower, its really quite grand topped with a Stenson.Worth a visit.
Went to Paris for valentines. It was a fun trip, if you go you have to stop by the tower. It was smaller than I thought it would be but still a fun stop. in my option I dio think the one in France was nicer, but the people were friendlier here at home.
This is definitely a unique and fun little stop to make while travelling. Great photo opportunity, and the Veterans memorial right next to it is also lovely to see!
The Paris, TX Eiffel Tower is not to be missed if you're in the area! The Tower is a great photo opportunity and adjacent to the Veterans Memorial - another wonderful site. The Tower's colored lights are fantastic for night-viewing, also!
