This place was by far the friendliest and most impressive and their Chardonnay is the best I've tasted. We also ha the tasting platter which was gorgeous with a glass of wine overlooking beautiful scenery. I loved the service and the wine - the best cellar door I've been to.
Can definitely affirm the positive reviews in this thread.Four of us were looked after very well in the very modern, pleasant & tastefully decorated venue by delightful & knowledgable lady.We enjoyed all the wines we tasted. The samples were definitely not small. She was quite happy for us to run 2 glasses at once to compare the BOF & Eddystone Point wines side by side.Standouts for us were the Brut Rose (quite a surprise for us), the BOF Pinot Gris, BOF Pinot Noir & Eddystone Point Pinot Noir.Certainly, if in this area would reccomend a visit.
We didn't stay for a meal although one could hear the sound of guests enjoying themselves. We just tried the champagne. Which is a rare experience in a vineyard. Most don't like to open sparkling wines because of the waste but they were generous in offering us 4 including a vintage Arras label blanc de blanc which was magnificent.
A beautiful location and building, lovely outdoor terrace for platters, friendly and knowledgeable staff, a special bottle opened to taste - all what u wld expect from a great cellar door and BOF delivers. Love the Arras bubbles as well.
We dropped in here on a wine tour of the Tamar valley and decided to have a quick bite to eat. We shared a tasting plate of Tasmanian produce (delicious cheese, smoked salmon etc), in the beautiful gardens. We were not overly impressed by the wines, and we felt that a few of the smaller boutiques actually outdid Bay of Fires with wine quality. Staff very friendly, no charge to taste the wines.
My wife and I went there in 1997 just after they had started. It still looked like a construction site but their wines had real potential. 17 years later and the wines have real class and the place looks great. Well done!
This winery is a little off the beaten track but really lovely. They were very friendly and happy to do tastings. I tried a few different wines and while I am no wine expert they were good enough to buy a couple of bottles.
Our group of 4 had a lovely time at Bay of Fires. The location is absolutely beautiful. The service from the 2 ladies at our tasting was fantastic, so friendly and helpful. The wines were superb, especially the Arras. Would definitely recommend a visit.
We enjoyed our visit here and particularly liked the wines on offer. The employees were attentive and pleasant to all of the small groups present at the time as well as to those sharing platters at the tables. The winery has a lovely aspect and some interesting items on sale in the shop. We were pleased we made the stop and they sold us some wine based on the pleasant experience.
The comfortable environment created from the first moment spoke volumes on both the host and the wines. It was a treat to be taken through the wines, the time invested in explaining everything they had on offer (quite a few!) and discussions on the locations of grapes, the results and most anything else you can think of. Outstanding service backed up by excellent wines - don't miss it!!
