Place too touristy, seems a big mall. It's nice place to relax yourself. It's safe but don't plan to visit around because it's poor.
This was a very pleasant and safe area to wander round looking at the shops and finding a restaurant to eat in.
I loved this place. The water was nice, the natural pools during low tide is wonderful. Clean beaches, lots of places not to crowded. The sad thing is the commercializing of the place - but you can find some great pearls if you speak with the local guides. I would love to come back!
Like everything about it, but it is sometimes difficult to get information on the different beaches in the area.
Not far down the beech and worth a visit. Several decent places to eat and drink, and plenty of small shops.
If you wnat to go to a relaxing place with great beaches and warming water, where people are very genttle! Praia do forte is the place. You will find a huge variaty of restaurants with good food, a relaxing atmosphere in the middle of a fisherman village!
Positively surprised. Very nice little town, with pleasant traffic free main street. Lots of restaurant, small shops, bars. Nice atmosphere and everything close to the nice white beach.
The beach is a little dangerous, but clean and sunny. Lots of handcraft souveniers being sold all around.
I kept hearing about Praia do Forte from various locals as one of the best places to go. So, I went. I selected to use the hotel travel agent as a source to schedule transportation and the trip.I was struck on how nice the narrow streets looked with its shops and little spots to eat or have ice cream. It can be a nice painting and a great place to walk.I was although disappointed as it was also expressed that it is a great location to go to the beach. It really was not, since it was where the market was located and, It was overcrowded. The beach front was very narrow and not well groomed, so you didn't feel comfortable leaving your belongings on the beach and going into the water. So, unless you want to go shopping then it would be a nice day trip, but to go to the beach and after almost a three hour bus ride, it is not a good idea.Best to consult exactly what you are looking for with the travel agent or talk with a hotel Taxi to take you and pick you up...They will know where the best safe beach is and it is in their interest that you are happy.Be nice, smile don't be afraid to eat the local food or drink the local beverage..part of traveling is enjoying the journey...Happy travels.
Safe walk round, easy going with gift shops and no hassle from sellers. Tourist type goods and turtles in the sunshine.
