We visit Prescott on a regular basis to visit family and we have been going to GMB since they opened. Every time the beer just gets better and better and our latest visit was the best yet. Michael is brewing outstanding beer with absolutely clean flavor profiles and he's having fun doing it! He is always making something new and unusual, styles that you won't find anywhere else. You've got to go here!!! Get adventurous, sample them all!
Visited with a friend in February and visited again with my partner this week. It was just as good as the first time. As others have noted, food is very limited, yet surprisingly good and it all pairs well with the brews. Go for the beer. There are six to try and I recommend the flight. 5 oz glasses x 6. A guide is offered with the flight to give you more info on all the brews. Be adventurous and give them a try. I found the English ordinary bitter to be my favorite this time.
We found this great spot as we were walking around downtown Prescott, AZ and were so glad we stopped in. I like the atmosphere here a lot more than the bigger Prescott Brewing Company around the corner. The only reason I did not give it an excellent rating is because I haven't found any amazing beers there yet. They have had some good ones and there is always something new to try each time you go in and I look forward to the trip there when I find an amazing brew! Definitely recommend a stop in here. They also have one of the most amazing bar tops I have ever seen!
Thanks for coming in over the weekend and for the positive review! We are happy that you enjoyed your visit. Just a note of clarification, GMB offers SIX beers on tap - 3 flagship styles and 3 rotating specialty/seasonal styles. We hope to see you again soon!
If you like good beer, really good fresh local beer, then you must stop in for a cold one. We found this brewery just off the main square by accident. Didn't even know it was here. Just in time for us to have that cold beer we were discussing. I had the flight, very generous 6 - 5 oz tastes for only $10. My husband had a 16 oz glass for only $4.50. I didn't like all the beer in the flight, and shared them with hubby, but my favorite was the Honey Vanilla Porter. Not bitter, not sweet. I wish they would bottle that stuff! You can get a growler though. Will definitely go back there. I think they serve some type of food, but we weren't eating at that time, so we didn't look at the menu. But the beer is worth the stop.
This is an great little spot in downtown Prescott. They are a nano brewery that seemed to have been locally funded through something akin to kickstarter. The atmosphere of the place is great, the bar top is fantastic and I want to have it, the beer is average, however. They are still relatively new, though, and I think as they hone their skills and recipe the beer will get better. If you're passing by, I recommend you pop in for a pint.
I really like this place. It's small, cozy and it has a tiny outdoor terraced patio surrounded by old brick walls from the neighboring buildings. I like to pretend I am sipping my handcrafted beer in a rustic garden in a small German town, and not sitting in the back alley a few blocks away from Whiskey Row. It's quiet enough for me to keep up that fantasy, especially the night that some actual German (I think) visitors were sitting at a nearby table talking. The beer selection changes regularly, which is perfect if you are adventurous and like to try new tastes, like the Espresso Stout and Honey Vanilla Porter (my favorite so far!) they had on our last visit. Plus there are some standards they keep on tap for folks (like my husband) who like a good, reliable lager or wheat beer. I think most of the staff are also the brewers, so they know all about each beer and will let you sample if you're not sure if/what you'll like. Gorgeous wood inlaid bar and casual seating areas reminiscent of funky college coffee shop decor. Check out the patio if you're there on a nice day (which is most days in Prescott.)
We love this place - and usually make it a Sunday afternoon tradition. With four fresh brews on tap at any given time, it is a charming place to enjoy a local brew. Our favorite so far is Wee Heavy, but they also have a great Espresso Stout. Live music is a mainstay at Granite Mountain Brewery - and they have some sandwiches, a yummy freshly made hummus & beer bread plate and some other snacks too. Merchandise for sale and "mug club" (co-op style) home town brewery options as well. If you like hand crafted beers - this is a must !Closed Mondays & Tuesdays for brewing, any other time you want to stop by I would highly recommend it.
Apparently reviews must be exactly 100 characters. Both the minimum and the limit according to stupid website. Lots to say, but not allowed to say any of it.
First off, the beer...highest quality due to the incredible freshness, lack of preservatives and UNFILTERED processes to garner the most flavor possible. You simply cannot beat that. I particularly admire their affinity for darker beers (stouts and porters), which are wonderful. However, they occasionally throw in flavorful, balanced-hop pale ales and IPAs, which complement perfectly. The atmosphere is what gives the place so much charm. Being able to speak personally with those involved in the nano process, including the founders and the brewer himself, is an experience like non other for beer aficionados. The interior is comfortable and cozy with pick-up games to boot. The outside patio in back is the perfect place to escape the heat under the trees and enjoy their great products. Moreover, they have now included beer-blended drinks which cater more towards the female clientele.A WINNER!
