Great place to visit and has a great view of the lake! Make sure you go in the daytime to see all the history so you can look inside the house.
The light tower itself is open Mondays and Tuesdays and well worth the paltry fee. We wish the main part of the building (the lightkeeper's living quarters) were also open, but we were told that area is reserved for use by VIPs. Open it all up on a daily schedule so history buffs can enjoy the full experience.
This place is serene and a great spot to snap a few photos. Didn't appear to be any attendant but that's okay we wandered around and enjoyed ourselves.
we drove our golf cart to the lighthouse it was okay, it did not fascinate me I guess my interest for these type of things was not there, but to just travel this little island on your cart was a day worth of wonder and a little bit of an inside site of how the island came to be.
large grounds. small parking lot (but most people use golf carts, bikes, or walk) great picnic site. Historical site.
In a lovely setting, this building is architecturally interesting, but the inside is only open 2 afternoons a week, which was disappointing. But it's still a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the water.
Walking up the 45 steps to the top of the lighthouse is worth the time. The view is beautiful and the student tour guide was very knowledgeable about the lighthouse history.
The light house was not open during our visit. The building and grounds are a wonderful place to sightsee. We sat on a bench and viewed the lake which is a delight. This light house and grounds is a perfect place to just stroll around and take pictures.
The grounds for this lighthouse are lovely, and perfect for a photo shoot. Both the lighthouse and its outbuildings are nice, and the views of Lake Erie and islands are fabulous! The lighthouse has somewhat limited hours to tour, so be sure to check ahead of your visit so you're not disappointed.
Wasn't open at the time I visited, but it was definitely still worth the stop. The lighthouse is beautiful on the outside and the views from the grounds are beautiful as well. Would be a nice place to picnic!
