This was such an interesting venue to go through. There is a lot of history and a tremendous learning experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is an enjoyable museum of the history of the Cherokee Indians. It is well maintained and nicely executed. It gives you a good in site to the past and future of the Cherokee Tribe. Take the time to stop and take a look.
I took my 12 year old grandson to the museum. The content of the museum is detailed and very informative. There are some very interesting displays but what I found is that much of it is very intense in text - not necessarily something that holds the attention of many young ones. I made sure my grandson read the details so that he knew why we were there and was exposed to the history of Cherokee Nation.
I went there about two weeks ago and had an ok experience . The art and info were displayed beautifully, so that wasn't the problem. When I was buying the tickets, the sign on the desk said it was $10 for adults and $6 for kids. I didn't notice until after I had left there that they had charged me $20 more. I bought 2 adult tickets and 1 kid ticket, making the total $26. They charged me $46. I was very disappointed with this. It wasn't so much the money but the way in which they did this. I felt cheated. The museum itself was beautiful, but with service like that, I wouldn't go again.
The Museum of the Cherokee Indian in Cherokee, NC is very well thought out and presents a contiguous, easy to navigate historical storyline in the facility's layout. The gift store has an extensive collection of books and resources for the researcher. Special arrangements can also be made to visit the museum's archives and conduct research.
This place is very interesting, you see how the Indians evolved, and how they were treated through the years. It makes you feel good about the things we have today
The museum was very educational in its portrayal of the history of not only the Eastern Cherokees, but also the American Indians as well.
A great learning experience. Really enjoyed it. Can't beleive I got my husband to a museum and he loved it.
In depth history of the Cherokee nation. Reading about the history and finding other information that I had not known about was very interesting. I enjoy learning about history and this was a great place to better understand what the Cherokee Nations history was all about.
This museum gave us a better understanding of the struggles the Cherokee Indians have gone through over the years. It was very enlightening. The folks there were very helpful and friendly. A must see when in Cherokee.
