It's fairly small but really beautiful park. We visited there with friends in Autumn, and the colorful nature amazed us there. It's perfect for jogging, dog walking. there is a small playground for kids.
This park is pet friendly, Kid friendly (it has a nice playground) and family friendly. My wife loves to take pictures...and this park provides ample opportunity in beauty and surroundings. A very clean park with a large lake, and a 1 1/2 mile walking trail around the park. Nice fishing in the lake as well!
This park is a little gem. The trail is just long enough for a good walk if you want more just go around again. The views of the lake are so relaxing you don't need yoga.
Nice place for a quiet walk in suburbs. A nice trail around the pond. Good for running too at 1.5 miles.
If you walk around this small lake sometimes it's very noisy because of the Chesapeake Express Highway. There must be in the past an Exercise Path but most of it is damaged. Our kids loved the turtles in the lake. That's funny.
This is a nice park that goes 2 miles around the lake. It's a really nice walk or run. There is a nice playground for little ones to play on the swings and slides and stuff. Dogs are welcomed. There is limited park benches to sit and enjoy the place just around the area near the playground. The only thing I would recommend they do is add benches to the deck areas so you can sit by the water and enjoy.
Beautiful park with a gravel walkway all the way around the lake. There are also several wooden platforms for fishing. Great place to take pictures, especially at sunset. Parking lot can be full at times..
This is a 1 1/2 mile walk around the Lake and in good weather it is busy. Dog walkers, bikers, runners and lots of people walking. Parking can be a problem at times. It is a lovely place and hubby & I use it frequently.
This was a nice park hidden in the middle of the city, There is a walking/jogging path circling the large lake. Fishing piers are provided at various points around the lake and there is a parking lot at the entrance. There is not a great deal of parking spaces, though and can fill up without a large crowd in the park.
Looking for a peaceful oasis away from the crowds? Look no further than Oak Grove Lake Park. It has a playground for the kids at the entrance to the park and a 1.5 mile loop around the lake. Don't forget to stop and see the large woodcarving of a fish on your walk around the lake. There are several piers that give you a great place to fish or just gaze out over the water. Wonderful for photos and for just getting away for a little peace and quiet. Truly one of the hidden gems of Chesapeake. Great place to walk your dog too. Only drawback is that parking for the park can fill up rapidly.
