My third trip to the annual Hawk Watch last Feb was somewhat spoiled by the rain, which fell all morning, but the staff was cheerful, helpful and most informative. This is a nice way to see hawks, other raptors and wildlife up close. The volunteers that adopt and care for these birds are dedicated to the cause of conservation. One guy had a blind and deaf owl that was injured and he provides care in his home.I would have liked to bring home a couple bottles of "Hawk Watch" wine from the local winery, but I wasn't willing to spring $100 membership fee for a free bottle. My only suggestion is to mark up the bottle to include a healthy profit and sell the bottles outright.
