Excellent range of cheeses and some really unusual ones too. Staff member doing tastings was great; new her cheeses and very informative. Menu setting is just gorgeous and I'll certainly be getting a selection of cheeses to take home. Lunch menu enticing but then we had to order. Could the staff member have been less welcoming, anymore disinterested or helpful. A smile costs nothing but sadly this young lass is walking around like we(the guests) are all just a disruption to her day. Has almost ruined my, up til now, great experience but I'm just going to try and sinus her attitude and continue to enjoy
This is a great place to enjoy some of the local Tasmanian produce, particularly the Wicked Cheeses, just delightful and such a great range. there is also smoked trout dip, chutneys, chocolates, more cheese, some local wines and ciders.Would recommend a tasting plater and to take some home for later :-)Easy to get to and ample parking as well.
Good staff lots of cheese and happy to assist with anything...offered ways to store cheese and when to eat the cheese
Great selection of cheese to try. They have them all laid out to taste and you can do as much tasting as you like. We loved the Whiskey Cheddar and the Brie cheeses were the creamiest we have ever tasted! They also have a smoked Brie which is to die for!! We left Wicked Cheese with many purchases.
Situated on Richmond Road, Richmond, we visited this busy place on a Sunday. We were provided with generous samples of delicious cheese which we subsequently bought at very reasonable prices. The shop also stocks other local produce and is a good place to buy food-related gifts and souvenirs. The café seemed to be doing good business on the day we were there. We like the cheese so much that we intend to order over the internet after our return home.
You'll love this tasting room on the way to Richmond and within a stone's throw of several wineries. Creamy brie cheese, hearty smoked cheddars, and other tasty treats are available at this shop that also has a small restaurant attached. If you are lucky, they might be making cheese and you can watch them through look-see windows. If not, you can still view the rounds of cheese wheels aging as you watch. Bring a cooler to takeaway all the cheese you need for your winery visit.
Good variety of cheeses and condiments to taste, plus large selection of foodie goodies to purchase. Small café area, including outside tables and lawn for children to play. Always seems very busy and very touristy, but I guess that's what it's all about in this area.
The food may have been ok if we knew what we were eating however the incompetent waitress did not explain what we were eating and when we asked what wine she would recommend her response was I dont drink wine. Maybe with more competent staff this place could be bearable
The Wicked Cheese Co is on the way to historic Richmond. You should drop in to taste the cheese if you're a cheesy person, because this locally made cheese is worth the stop! Taste your way through smoked, triple cream and unusual combination cheeses (such as the chilli camembert!) at Wicked Cheese. There's plenty of chocolate and jams, condiments etc if cheese isn't your thing. If it's close to brunch or lunch, you might also like to try the taster plate in the small cafe attached to the sales floor. There's other menu options on sale such as salads and desserts, but when in Rome, right? The cheeses are well priced, cheaper than in Hobart, and there's little cooler bags to use if you intend on shipping your cheese home.
Great little stop here. Great cheese tasting. Try the smoked Brie and the whiskey cheddar. What a win.
