The best cooked crab and atmosphere near Manzanita! Love the fire pits to warm up and friendly staff.
Scenic marina on Nehalem Bay. Everybody here was nice and we caught three ginormous fish! What more is there to say?!?
Kelly & Janice are host with more than the most!! Crabbing in Nehalem Bay can't get any better than this!! Kelly will hook you up with everything you need to catch dinner! Last time there we limited out and got to be choosy on which ones to keep. Whether it takes just an hour or many more you can't find it better than this!!
This place is a must if you like crabs! We tried crabbing off the dock, and while we did not pull up any that were edible (too small or female), we thoroughly enjoyed the community atmosphere on the pier. Everyone had suggestions on how to crab and checked on their neighbor's progress (most of our neighbors were more successful). Kids, in particular, seemed to be having a blast crabbing on the dock. But we did not go home empty-handed! We bought a live dungeness crab and took it home to cook. Or they will cook crabs there for you regardless of whether or not you caught or purchased them. Their clams (steamers) were also good and their oysters were excellent. All of the staff - I remember Grace and Annie - manage to combine hard work with great people skills. They really seem to enjoy being there and that feeling is contagious.
We happened to stumble on this gem! We gorged ourselves on fresh crab and oysters while enjoying a beautiful view and a bottle of wine. Definitely, DON'T miss this stop if you want the best seafood to be found!
This is our 3rd stop here & we are always pleased! The seafood is fresh, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed. We love for the staff to pull a Dungeness crab from the live well, cook it, clean it, & then we eat it ... it doesn't get any fresher!
Made it to Rockaway Beach just in time to catch the sunset and eat the freshest, yummiest crab ever! We told Kelly how hungry we were, and he selected a fresh crab for us, and boiled it right there. In 18 minutes we were feasting on a huge crab in front of the marina. Amazing. Crab.
We have been stopping in this sweet little marina for many years. Always a great adventure to which we look forward. No reservation, late arrival. Kelly found us a spot overnight for the coach. His wife planned to put us in the front row for the 2nd night, quickly took our order, ran outside and grabbed a very big crab for wife and I to share in the coach. Minutes before the kettles were shut down, Kelly (always wears the hat after a dire mishap at sea) tossed in our huge crab. A beautiful sunset and seagulls, lots of fun loving folks from a large scheduled group enjoying the unique ambiance reminiscent of simpler times, beer, wine and conversation, even a nice dog. Due to a health circumstance, we reluctantly left a day early. Kelly reimbursed our 2nd night with no problems. 'We will return' forever, in person or in memories. Love you guys. "May the Lord take kindly to ya" :>)
Grace was amazing; she took our crab order right away and began prepping a FRESH crab for us to take with us back to the hotel. Very rustic but warm and inviting place. Grace was fantastic in offering "not so well known" and "traditional" sights to do for us tourists and meeting the two new kittens warmed us hearts on a very windy chilly day. Good luck with Chum and Bait, and we are making this destination a must for all our trips to the ocean! KittyMom
We stopped here over the weekend as our car club was on a drive down the Oregon coast. The weather was cold and rainy but the marina has a nice covered area with picnic tables were we sat around the camp fire kept dry and warm and ate freshly cooked crabs. There is nothing better than the taste of a fresh Dungeness Crab, and it doesn't get any fresher than picking a live one out of the tank and waiting while they throw it in the pot and cook it up for you.Now that I know about this place I will definitely made it a regular stop on every Oregon coast trip.
