There was plenty of parking on the sunny Friday afternoon we visited. Had we been senior citizens from New Hampshire, we could have gotten in for free. But, the $15 parking fee was worth it. The bathhouse was clean & refreshments were available. It was low tide and there was a fair amount of seaweed on the northern end of the beach. My wife & I enjoyed walking the clean southern stretch.
Great beach, though I prefer Jenness. Good family beach, nice rocks to climb. Smaller so really good for the little ones.
This is a lovely white-sand beach with lots of parking and the facilities many beach enthusiasts want. As a result, it can be a little crowded during peak (summer) months. However, when it's quiet, this is a great family beach with a long stretch to walk, and -- unless there's undertow -- the beach slopes gently into the water so little ones can play in the shallow waves, safely.
Although there are other beaches I prefer in terms of size and surf, Wallis Sands is a great family beach as there are ample changing rooms, showers, and food available right on site (as opposed to many other beaches along Route 1). At the height of the season, it can get quite crowded, so my best advice is to get there early in the day. (In fact, there are times in July and August, especially on the weekend, where the parking lot closes.) But there's plenty of room to explore - rocks, tide pools, walking path, etc. I highly recommend.
I find the parking prices a little high, and the beach a little small at high tide. Otherwise, my family had a blast there-- it's quieter than the bigger beaches and at low tide there was room for a whiffle ball game and other family fun.
What a beautiful location. The fee last time I went was $15.00, but I didn't pay it. I parked over in the free 1-hour parking spots by the rocks on the left side of the beach. I love going and picking shells/rocks, and walking in the water. It's such a small, beautiful place.
Excellent Beach with bach house and beautiful sand. Small beach and gets crowded when the tide comes in but still worth it.
It is a small beach and can get crowded, but perfect for families with small children. No big waves and a bath house on location. One down side is the price to get in. Good all day spot!
Nice long beach, usually not too crowded. Good place for walking and sightseeing. Disappointed to see that dogs are not allowed (in season.)
While the tide was out there were small tide pools where we saw small crabs, hermit crabs, snails, etc...
