I have been to Sedona several times and always like to go back to the Sedona Airport Overlook. The view is awesome and it has a lot of energy from the vortexes.
Best place in town to view Sedona's amazing sunsets. The colors of the sky changes in minutes to vivid hues of the rainbow. Would not miss this for anything. A must see if your visiting the area at dusk.
The day we went it was very windy which we understand is quite normal. It is the best way to get an overview of the area and suggest you use video and a still photo. Road to the top is windy so drive carefully. Lots of parking
Our pink jeep tour brought us here and it is beautiful! The view there is just something you have to see!
The view up here was terrific - don't quite get why the airport charges a dollar a person to walk onto this little overlook. It's an optional payment, but still....
Atop the Airport Mesa, one will find two of the best Sedona attractions, the overlook and the Airport Mesa Vortex. There is plenty of parking and a 180 degree view of Sedona, the Mogollon Ridge, and many of the world famous Red Rocks.
This little airport has beautiful scenery and a great restaurant. We went there first for breakfast, which we enjoyed immensely. Then we came back another day for dinner. Great spot overlooking the expanse of Sedona.
The views from the overlook are incomparable! It's definitely a beautiful spot. Between our first visit here in 2009 and our more recent trips during the last 2-3 years, it has definitely become more busy and often crowded. Care should be used when crossing the road to get to the views, but a little patience and care is worth the view. Not very interesting for the kids, but a quick jaunt up the road to see the airport and airplanes more than makes up for it!
If you want to get some great photos of the Sedona sunsets this is the place to come. The colors in the clouds as the sun goes down are amazing.
Practically a 360 degree view of Sedona; we waited until our last afternoon there and it was a great way to see it all from a new view and say goodbye to Sedona!
