We decided to have a cocktail at the Icon before our VIP movie date. The waiter suggested a pear martini which not only smelled delicious but tasted great. We had the homemade potato chips with onion dip, just like my mom used to make. We were very impressed that when seating became available for our movie the staff moved our drinks and food to the theatre at a table that was between our comfy lounge chairs. Wait service available during the movie. Fun date night with the hubby *****
This theater made me have a lot of mixed feelings about my experience, and here's why;The Positive Points- clean- nice seating layout (good view from anywhere)- comfy seating (with a slight recline!)- good sound/video- near a variety of nice restaurants and shops The Negative Points- horribly overpriced snacks (even for movie theatres)- bland, low-quality snacks- assigned seating (hard to coordinate to sit next to others)Overall I figured it was a decent experience, and would probably go again if given the chance. However I probably wouldn't go too far out of my way for it. If you're looking for a very nice viewing experience and don't mind spending a little extra, this is the theater for you.
What's the most important part of any movie experience? The popcorn, right? The popcorn at west end is so salty you cant eat it. We bought a large buttered. Paid 75 cents extra for real butter. We asked for and received a replacement but it was no better. Never in my life have I ever left popcorn uneaten at a movie, but I had never been to West End before. Yuch!
A little spendy, but well worth it. If you get the VIP seating upstairs, you get access to a bar, full menu, and excellent, comfy seats...
We love Showplace Icon! The VIP area is the best. All seating in the theater is reserved. The VIP area is oversized leather seats that are very comfortable. It has a nice lounge with amazing service. You can bring your drinks in from the lounge into the VIP theaters. Our 2 favorite things are the bacon popcorn which is to die for and also the regular popcorn you can get real butter!
First off , hate the fact you have assigned seating.. So if you are sitting next to a smoker you cannot change seats coz big brother is watching!!!! Plus tickets prices are sky high! Then the fact the parking is so far from the theatre.....The seats start out being comfortable but then they are sooo uncomfortable I just hate it they need to spend the money for better seatingAnd the bathrooms, no paper towels are you kidding me? Who has time for that silly dryer? Go at your own risk even the snacks are pricey!
The location is nice; theaters are always nice and clean; easy free parking, plenty of parkingright in this Wes End area there are plenty of choices for a before/after movie nice meal - some bars as well Good place for a movie also if you are Icon member get some good discounts and previous showings
We purchased reserved tickets for a UFC fight. The theater was well-staffed, and our IDs were checked to make sure we were over 21. The seating was comfortable, and my husband loved that he could buy a beer in the theater without having to miss a second of the show.
Really enjoyed the Lobby Lounge upstairs. Comfortable seating, delicious food...we loved the bacon popcorn!
Only place that I know of that has reserved seating in MN for a theater. There is also a bar and restaurant upstairs. If you do not finish you meal on time you can bring it into the theater. The prices are not as high a AMC for concessions, but I wouldn't go there hungry. Not the closest theater to me (Willow Creek), but worth the extra mile. My friends always make the trip if we want to see a movie together.
