We loved the sculptures in this museum, and the peacefulness. Glad we were able to take pictures. Mi Husband does sculptures so this was really amazing to see what tools they worked with back then.. It was just so many vida sculptures by Fredericks inside and outside. Loved the campus, we walked around it was such a nice day. We have been in saginaw so many times an never came here, so glad that we did this trip.Nice that they had free parking.
WOW! what can I say?? This place takes your breath away and right in the middle of the city. When you are walking through the gardens, you don't even realize where you are. Everyone was so nice and the place is super clean and it even has a children's garden with interactive exhibits. Well worth the money and the tri!
My group stopped here during a convention and I'm so glad they did. I had absolutely no idea this museum even existed. The saddest part is that I didn't have enough time to take everything in. Although the museum is small there is so much information to read about pertaining to each sculpture. The ambiance in the museum is very calming and the lighting is phenomenal. If you have an hour or two to spare while you are in the area I highly recommend this museum!
This is a nice place to visit. The sculptures are huge and all have a small description beside it.There is free parking and free admission. It is in the Sagniaw university and very easy to get to. The staff are very informative . There are sculptures outside as well. If you are in the area it is worth the visit.
This is one of those places that is a hidden secret. It is beautiful inside & free. They have different displays come in so there is always something new to see.
Stopped here to break up drive to Mackinac Island but this would be a destination in itself. Small museum on a college campus with wonderful scuptures inside and out, with fascinating signs to read. There's also a depiction of the artists studio with signage and videos that clearly explain the process. And its free. Absolutely loved it!
Excellent display of larger than life sculptures by Marshal Frederick's. Truly an asset to our community. A great place to go for quiet reflection and appreciation of art....Call ahead for hours.
I know people who have lived in Saginaw their whole lives and have never visited the museum. It is truly something to be proud of. Located on the lovely campus of Saginaw Valley State University, the museum houses a vast collection of Fredericks sculptures. Fans of The Cross in the Woods in Indian River should see the exhibit.
Like the history and seeing the evolution of the work of pieces that I am familiar with, and new pieces that I discovered there I also enjoyed the setting on Saginaw Valley State campus.
I go here often. Take any out of town guests here. Everyone has always loved it and appreciated the visit! I understand they are going to be expanding in the near future. Can't wait to see what that unfolds!I have been to a bazillion galleries & museums in my lifetime.... but this is unmatched! The magnitude of Marshall Fredericks work is utterly breathtaking! When you ponder each piece and you see his workroom set up there .... you cannot help but marvel in this mans incredible creativity! Being able to see the process there really brings it around to the "Muchness" of the Sculptures & The Man! His artworks are absolutely timeless! A must see!
