This is a great golf course, out of the way, so it doesn't get as much play as the public tracks closer in to Silicon Valley/SF Bay.It can be breezy in the afternoon, so you are better off playing a morning tee time. Front nine and back nine have different feels.A great golf course.
If you can stay in the fairway on every shot , if you do not mind losing at least 2-4 balls a round, if you like weeds and cracked conc cart parts - play San Juan Oaks. The course is tight and hilly and if you get off line your ball is gone. There is no grace period or second chance. I am a 20 handicap so not horrible but that course has kicked my butt for the last time.
if you play at this course, you have to expect at least 5.5hrs to finish 18 holes. My experience was 6.5hs on Jun 8 and 2 month ago, 5,5hrs on weekday.the pro shop do not manage the player's pace and many players at this course play a golf with drunken. the 6.5 hrs was the longest time I ever had for my golfing life.
This is a golf course, and the food is great. If you like to play golf, this is a great challenging course.
This course since there are no cars or houses around is quiet. This course is awesome to play. You can also enjoy the view although some of it is a freeway.
San Juan Oaks is a spectacular golf course with a view of the San Juan Valley, plenty of parking, excellent staff and fine dining. This is the favorite venue for events: weddings, anniversaries, proms and banquets, non-profit fund-raisers. The facilities are lovely and the atmosphere is restful and serene.
Definitely worth the trip - A Fred Couples course - very interesting & challenging. We walk, although many take carts. Beautiful scenery & wildlife. Really fun to play. We always play there at least two or three times when visiting Carmel - which is only 40 minutes away. Highly recommend.
San Juan Oaks has a lovely view looking out over the San Juan Valley. The golf course is well maintained and the facility beautiful. It is a well-loved venue for weddings, anniversaries, benefit dinners and events. The non-profit organization I work with holds a benefit fundraiser here every year and we are so impressed with the professional, yet down-home friendly staff at San Juan Oaks.
This is the best golf course I have ever played, anywhere. I play all over the country. I opted out of the RTJ trail in AL to play here.It is a great design. It's walkable. The greens are fast, undulated.and in great shape. The views are beautiful. There is wildlife around the course. There are no houses on the course (yet). The practice range and short game area are excellent. The restaurant is very good and reasonable. The staff is great .....AND...it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to play. That's all I have to say...
I have played this course on a number of occasions, simply because it is between where I live and my father lives and it is the nicest course we could find. The facilities are great and the course is nice, but $80 for golf out in the hinterlands is a little expensive. The weekday fee of $55 is much more palatable.
