Great place, proud fans, nice atmosphere. This is one of the best football clubs in Brazil. Pele played for this club. Fans are very proud about being a member of this club. The child inside me came out as I was cheering the game.
I have always wanted to see where Pele played. The trophy room and sitting in the bleachers is a must for all true soccer fans.
I went there for a charitable football game with Robinho. I remember they had some women referees, Playboy looking type. Great experience.
O estádio Urbano Caldeira, foi o berço de muitos talentos e idolos do futebol como Pelé, Robinho e Neymar....
Home to Pele, this stadium is a must visit for any football fan. And not to forget, Neymar, Robinho, Adriano and the legends of bygone era Pepe, Gilmar, Coutinho and so on.....It is a unique stadium and looks pretty small from outside. We were lucky to be there on match day, between Santos FC (second string side with few players from first team) and AFC and best of all, it was free entry. The atmosphere is amazing. The fans are very passionate and vocal. It almost makes you emotional.
Vila Belmiro, as it is called by locals (based on the name of the neighborhood) is the perfect place to catch a match of one of the top clubs in Brazil, Santos FC. Before, after, or on a different day there is also a museum highlighting the history of the club and showing off it's two most famous players, Pele and Neymar.
You are a Soccer Fan ? You will love this stadium! You are "only" a Brazil Tourist? You have to see this place on the way to RIO de JaneiroMaracana Stadium was "Home" of the world famous soccer Player PELEThis stadium is very unique, it is round -- is 6 ( SIX) level high with elevator for visitors and has a capacity of 200000 spectators. Under the play ground is a huge area of training facilities , with small soccer field, massage rooms and cabins for the players.I was laying down by myself on the massage bank from PELE and have written my name on it.We have attend to this time a soccer game and the first 10 minutes we was not sure what was the home players, so we was applauding for the "wrong" team and the result was that we got very intensive "beleaguered" with water Balloons , we changed then our view of the home team, this was very funny for us!!!!!At night we attend the celebration of Brazil Carnival with Samba dancing the whole night, the whole city is in motion and you will be fascinated from the temperament of the people.Rio de Janeiro a City of Glamour and Contrast :The statue of Christ overlooking the ocean is a must to seeThe Copacabana Beach is famous for all tourist ( but be very carefully ) the crime rate is there---you can play soccer on the beach with the teenager and you will have the fun of your life, because they are very good and they will show you how good!!!!!Or relaxes for a day on the beach, the food and drink vendors come to you!!!!!
