First trip here and never will go back. We went and had the kids go to the class. I know safety is first but the instructor was on a power trip making us all feel like 2 year olds. Once getting ready we go to take a picture and he won't let us - said there was photo time later. Nice place and would be fun but serious lack of ability by him or front desk to be nice. F1 is better
Fantastic fun for all , families, couples and even singles. If you have never raced a go kart inches off the ground at speeds up to 35 miles per hour this is something you just have to try. Great fun for families and groups. Food and refreshments available on site and parking outside. Easy access from I295/I95 and RT1
I read some older reviews complaining about the staff. Perhaps the staff has changed because I thought they were great. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and explained everything to us. We had a 12 year old and 13 year old race. They took the safety class and raced. They really enjoyed it! The instructor was really good with the kids, and very attentive. It does get rather expensive, but I suppose the place costs a lot to operate. I also do not have any other place to compare it to, since this is the first indoor go cart place I have been to. I would have liked to have raced but because of the expense, I didn't. I would like to go back and race with the kids one day. Overall, it was a great experience for the kids.
We went to the indoor kart track in March 2013. My 4 year old loved the mini power wheels track. He tried every single car and drove around and around the mini tire track. We also played mini golf (same area as power wheels). Then we watched Daddy race on the big track!
We went as a big group on a weeknight. The place was empty but they would let all of us drive because not everyone had their licenses on them. One of the 19 year old forgot hers and both parents were present but they still wouldn't let her drive. Once we left and came back everyone had fun. Carts were fast and the track was challenging. It was lots of fun once they let everyone drive
Great karts and a very well organised/ managed facility makes for safe, good fun. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Great track and marshals that ensure driving is safe but fun. Good value and fantastic entertainment. Viewing area makes it pleasant for non drivers. Would highly recommend.
My family has been vacationing together in Maine for over a decade. We discovered Maine Indoor Karting a few years back, and 9 of us invested in higher priced memberships so that we could pay a lower rate on return trips. This year, 5 people in our group decided to dedicate an afternoon of our trip to go racing. We called to make an appointment, and the girl on the phone said we did not need a reservation. She advised us to come up at 4:00 and she would "squeeze us in," as there were camps there that day. After waiting around for a couple of hours, and driving almost an hour to get there, our group was rudely greeted by a young man who informed us that we needed a reservation, and that if he could fit us in at all, it would not be for two hours. He was not at all interested in the fact that another employee said to arrive at four o'clock. He was also unable to find several of us in the computer, despite the previous investment in memberships. When a member of our group questioned this he was told by the young man that he "was going to do him a favor and waive the membership fee," but since he "didn't like his attitude" he "wasn't going to do him any favors." Needless to say, we left and made the hour long drive back to our hotel. It was a collosal waste of an afternoon of our vacation, and a mistake that we will never make again. In my day, an employee who treated paying customers so rudely would be fired. I'm not sure where young people today think it is ok to talk to and treat customers with such disrespect. Newsflash...customers are necessary to keep your business open and running. They are also the reason that you are able to receive a paycheck. Good to know that Maine Indoor Karting is so arrogant as to think that they don't need the business of tourists. With all of the attractions that Maine has to offer, we will definately be taking our business elsewhere in the future.
This place was really neat! We had to put on a jacket, gloves, helmet, and neck brace and it was kinda hot but once we started driving it wasn't bad. We had a blast. I wish it was cheaper though. We paid $46 for 2 people for 1 race.
A bit pricey, but staff clearly explained the rules and requirements. Facility is well maintained and staff is pretty well versed in what they do.
The drivers had an excellant time, but, the air quality while racing was not the best
