It looks as the national capitol in small and several of the rooms are to day in use as a museum. A round tour with a guide is a must and the guy at the reception is funny
We visited here not really knowing what to expect and found it really interesting. It's amazing how the place looks original considering it's all "new" as such.
I like visiting state capitols. The one is sacramento is really nice, a beautiful bright white stone. Unfortunately some of the grass had died because of water conservation during the drought. But the different trees around the exterior were really pretty, and the road leading up to the capitol went through the old scenic drawbridge. The rotunda was nice and it was cool seeing the assembly and the senate rooms.
Full of history in a beautiful building. It was nice to have some of the rooms kept as museums. It gives you an idea what it was back then. The rotunda is quite impressive. This Capitol seems more historic than the one in Santa Fe, NM.Highly recommend to visit.
Great history and a beautiful building, don't miss the grounds it sits on, the collection of trees dates back over a hundred years.
Beautiful old building with the original dome. Wonderfully restored spaces inside. This is where the business of the State is conducted. The Governor's Office is here, as well as the Lt. Gov., and the Senate and Assembly chambers.
Loved the architecture and the stunning exterior Christmas trim- a lone Christmas Tree studded with thousands of lights.
The Capital sit on beautiful grounds with hundreds of tress of different types...everything from pines to orange trees. The path that leads up to the Capital is surrounded by them!I did not have the opportunity to go in, but just the walk around its park is worth going to. Many restaurants all around the area! Anything from pizza to Greek to Asian! As you walk through, don't miss the Rose garden and the tribute to our nations soldiers.
Don't miss the discussion room.Is is funny to ask the guards why Arnold Schwarzenegger's picture is missing.
the interior was all redone in the 70s? it really looks fantastic. Lots of places for nice photos and you can see our state government in action. Do not miss walk through the park that adjoin the grounds.
