It is small Zoo but what I reallly liked is how all the animals are treated and the visitor can still view them great and enjoy them.
Clean and well maintained and a little pricey. Fun venue for all ages. Lots of critters with zoo staff throughout. They will often have a bird or animal out of their cage for touch and learn sessions. Kids love the giraffes that can be fed and petted as well as the small train ride tour. Great family outing.
I am not a fan of zoos and circuses , but I have to admit that this zoo is just the right size for a day trip . Plenty to see and more than enough to keep a hyper active child amused . Animals seem to be in great condition and well card for . Informative details and educational as well. Try to time it for a " free day " and the trip is the best adventure you can have for no money . Well worth a visit .
There are 5 giraffes in residence here and the viewing platform to observe them is very well laid out. It is elevated so, if you are lucky, you can be eye to eye with one or more of these lovely creatures. We went on a weekday morning so were able to see all the exhibits easily.....This is a rather small zoo, so timing your visit might influence the experience.
My two granddaughter's and I really enjoyed our visit to the Sacramento Zoo! We had not been here for several years. There have been so many updates and newer animal exhibits it makes it so exciting to see all the changes! We sat for over an hour watching the monkeys exhibit. We had such a good time we decided we would go more often. If you get tired walking around for extra cost take the train ride its a good little tour of the zoo and a fun ride for any children
kids like the animals.Foods choices limited so eat before handliked how you go in one way and out another in case YOU get lost [kids never do just us parents]
This compact attraction can be seen in two hours, or it can amuse you all day. Located in beautiful Land Park, each exhibit is carefully done. There is a wide range of birds and smaller animals, and the giraffe exhibit is a favorite with kids. There's a platform up 15 feet which allows you to feed the giraffes at their level. The pink flamingos are breathtaking and there are ducks and waterbirds galore. There are several snack stands and a nice gift shop (check out the rolling weasel toy).Overall, great for all ages. A true gem.
The snow leopard pictured Is neat. They also have an animal I had not seen before, a red Panda. It is compact but has lots of animals, most of which you can get up close and personal.
The location is nice, the natural landscape adds to the charm of the zoo. I wish there were more animals, though but maybe it is because of this time of year (January). Overall a good experience.
The Sac Zoo is a wonderful little zoo. We've been more times than I can count in the last 12 years. Sometimes it is very quiet and sleepy, but every now and then the animals are alert and animated and you get to see something very special. The zoo has done a good job over the years updating exhibits. It is a great place to spend a couple of hours.
